Mahmood's been crap this year, may have been bowling quick but he's not getting wickets and generally been quite expensive. I'm sure Nasser Hussain will still be calling for Saj to be in the England team if Bresnan or Onions fail. Harmison should still be miles ahead of Saj, hell I'd rather see Plunkett in the side ahead of Mahmood.

Chapple 6/19, of 14 overs. Mahmood 1/57 of 14 overs.

Chapple's gotta be the unluckiest bowler to never have played Test Cricket for England. To average 27 with the ball, but never get a go is very harsh of the selectors. If only he was blessed with an extra yard of pace, he'd probably have been a permanent member of the XI, just a shame that Fletcher's team picked pace ahead of wickets.

Vaughan failed again. Out for 16 to young Woakes who's still proving that he can get good batsmen out. Glad Michael wasn't picked for this Test Match, he's done basically nothing this season so far.

Monty's playing for Northants as well, but suprisingly is yet to get an over against Essex. BBC have him down as in the XI, but 5 bowlers have bowled ahead of him so far today. I'm gonna guess that he's not actually playing.

Ireland is a decent bowler and will do well in Division 2.

We're doing well against Durham, though Benkenstein has got a hundred. I hope to be there on the 3rd day.

Phillip Hughes in the runs again - Going at his 3rd hundred in 3 matches. His now averaging over 68 in first-class cricket. Amazing.

Ben I love you and all that but it's time for a grammer lesson. It's not 'his' it's 'he's'. For example, '"He's now averaging over 68 in first class cricket". That's how it should be. He's is a contraction of 'he is' which means that the 'i' is taken out of the phrase so that it becomes 'he's' and not 'his' as you spell it my son.

'grammar'

:p Had to be done.

Swann and Broad will be all over Hughes like a rash. Certainly more so than Murtaza Hussain and Jade Dernbach anyway ;)

Phillip Hughes destroyed Dale Steyn, I don't think he'll have many problems against the English seam attack - Especially Broad. Hughes has an incredibly ugly technique but has an amazing ability to smoother late-swing and punish it for runs whilst those sort've delieveries would get most batsman out. That's what impresses me most about Phillip Hughes. Apart from his first-class class average. :p

Only a laspe in concentration against spin can get Phillip Hughes out.

Hughes is yet to face a decent spinner, though. Swann will be waiting in Cardiff.
