My cricket coach oh and leicestershire cheif exec, has now said the IPL winners and stanford winners will play in the 2 extra slots. He also said "What the ECB are looking to do is have a pool of round about 30 or 40 overseas players that will be contracted to them and they will be drafted. "

But what would happen if a player plays in the IPL and for a county team?

I don't know, there will only be 1 team so it won't be a major issue, I guess he plays for the IPL side unless he's English. Could be interesting if some West Indian plays for an IPL side, a stanford sie and an English side

What I would of prefered was a system exactly the same except not have any overseas teams!

could be interesting because Dwayne Smith plays for Sussex, Deccan Chargers and Presumably the Stanford XI, as he is one of WI best 20/20 players :onpc

but i think that the EPL idea will be a welcome addition to the county scene, as i feel that the Pro40 competition has no relevance whatsoever to international cricket, whereas ther is now a boom in 20/20 what with Champions League and the World 20/20 cup

but i will be backing the Kent lads come 2010 and hoping to see some brilliant cricket over the years to come
