FOOTBALL Fifa 14 PC & Consoles

Fifa 14, there is a pc version but it would not be next gen and that is why I will prefer to buy it when PS4 comes out.

Wow great find there, but will there be player career? :spy Never heard about it yet.

I've 4GB graphics card but I wasn't satisfied with the GFX quality of Fifa13 on PC.

----------

But one thing a love playing Fifa(s) on PC is the money which gets increased by me with the help of the cheat engine. :D

Really? You must have been doing something wrong, or another part of your PC is letting the show down because on full settings, Fifa 13 on PC looks significantly better than on consoles. Then there are the mods that further increase the graphical quality. There were even some screens showing Fifa 13 modded vs Fifa 14 'NG' and everyone thought the Fifa 13 modded screens were the 'NG' ones. :lol:lol:lol

You can increase the money anyway in CM. The game lets you if you buy that Financial Takeover EASFC bonus;).

Mods are a difference, yes, but as someone who dabbles in UT PC's not an option.

Hate PCs anyway. Haven't used one for almost ten years, loving the laptops.

:lol

You do know what 'PC' stands for, don't you? Personal Computer. You can't get a more personal computer than a flaming laptop...

While it's infuriating that the PC version won't be next gen, some of the play tests about how more realistic the game plays now are beginning to sway me back towards Fifa. The two demos will decide, as usual. Maybe I'll get both (rare for me to do that): PES 14 for BaL and Fifa 14 for everything else.

Nice find; I'll read that right now. Some solid CM changes might just swing it for me.

On to transfers which now have a dedicated hub from the main Career Mode navigation bar. Many of the options within the Transfer Offer screens are the same as in FIFA 13 but one welcome new addition has made its way in - ?Reject all offers/disallow future offers?. Choosing this means no more repeated offers will come in for players who you are not prepared to sell at any price. A simple addition, but yet another huge annoyance from FIFA 13 eradicated.

Finally! A 'Not For Sale' button!

EA made huge strides in the audio department in FIFA 13?s Career Mode and all the score updates, results rundowns and injury updates are back again. What EA have done with FIFA 14 Career Mode, especially in-game, is add yet another layer of depth to the discussions between Smith and Tyler.

In FIFA 13 the commentary team would regularly talk about recent games you?d won or lost, but it was very generic and because of that it always felt like smoke and mirrors. Now though, Smith and Tyler will reference results and events directly like ?a great 3-1 win against Swansea last week? for example. And in the next game when I played Chelsea they talked at length about how Juan Mata had recently put in a transfer request and was looking to leave. At which point I leapt in to the transfer market, only to find he?d signed with Barcelona.

Another neat commentary tie-in came up with Leighton Baines (a 9mil signing) who?d been receiving a lot of praise in the press for his performances since joining Man Utd. When we came up against Fulham in November, Baines strode forward and powered a left foot drive in to the bottom right corner, to which Tyler mused ?and that is a great goal from Leighton Baines, who is in wonderful form this season?.

It?s all subtle, but it?s incredibly immersive and FIFA 14's Career Mode is jam packed with these wonderful little audio snippets which we hope will reverberate around any club you decide to manage this year.

See, that's the sort of attention to detail that I love in games. Seriously, I loved Fifa 13; if Fifa 14 can do something about the awful defensive shapes then that'll go along way towards me buying it. And no, I'm not putting any stock in the videos - they're nearly always at a stupidly low difficulty level and/or being played by someone who doesn't know what they're doing!

However - no mention of whether we can finally do a side by side comparison of current squad players and potential new signings! That is a vital part of management! And what about swap deals or player+cash deals?

Eh, PC, you know what I mean, desktop:p.

The not for sale button is interesting. I've had players in the past request transfers and instances where the board has sold a player because he was unhappy and the club was receiving a plethora of offers. I wonder if they are still sold off or if clubs still bid even if they are not for sale.

Player+cash deals and swap deals are already in the game and horrendously overdone, you mean you want them to improve them? I agree.

On the topic of commentary I just hope it isn't so repetitive and the same regurgitated stuff over and over. I'm sick of hearing about how the name Emirates Stadium was acquired!

^Worse then that is the injury men.. "He twisted his leg but I think he will carry on" :rolleyes

How many of ya are gonna buy the patch version of FIFA 12/13? :facepalm

That's exactly what it's gonna be... EA have come up with more stupid "feature" names like True Shot and Real Ball Physics or whatever when in reality all that means is that they have tweaked some sliders/parameters to do with the physics and added a few more animations... Doesn't really fill you with confidence when that's their main selling point in the trailers.

It all depends on the two demos; if I prefer PES' style of football, that's what I'll buy.
Seconded.
Although,I've high expectations from PES than FIFA this year.I still think PES 13 is better than FIFA 13,gameplay is top-notch and graphics are good too.
Sure,it ain't as popular as FIFA but not the one to be looked down either.
Anyone here who tried PES 13 and the player(pro) camera type in it?
I suggested the game(PES 13) to 3-4 of my mates and they sure did love it.Some of 'em over here too.:)

For me, Fifa's positives include all the content the game has - I don't mean licences; I mean the sheer amount of leagues, cups etc etc. As well as that, the CM feels like a real football world and by the sounds of it the commentary this year will further add to that feeling. As well as that, the gameplay while perhaps not as realistic as PES', is a lot of fun and that's the most important thing in a game as far as I'm concerned. When realism gets in the way of fun, realism must give way.

Back when Fifa first went 'NG', I downloaded the PES 4 demo after playing Fifa for years and I was blown away, so I switched to PES until proper Fifa returned to PC in Fifa 11.

PES' shortcomings are Fifa's positives - the game has never felt like a real football world to me, with a realistic transfer market etc (OK - sometimes the Fifa transfers themselves seem a bit weird, but you get what I mean). As well as that, PES 14 will still be severely limited when it comes to content like leagues and cups. So taking all that into account, for me to switch back to PES, I'll need to be blown away by the football to a similar level I was back with PES 4 - the football will have to be mind-blowing to make up for the game's shortcomings off the pitch.

Having said all that, there is a very good chance I'll buy both this year provided neither demo is disastrously bad: Fifa for CM and PES for BaL. Also to be taken into account is that next year is World Cup year, and the World Cup patches on PES are of the very highest quality. I remember the Germany 2006 one - it had all the stadiums, all the chants, all the teams - everything.

The big difference for me this time round is that I still thoroughly enjoy Fifa, whereas last time the 'NG' consoles came around, Fifa was showing its age far more than it is now and various aspects of the game were beginning to grate, not least the ball physics, the 'Alien Hive' crowds, the steel cage nets - the overall gameplay as well.

The main fault with FIFA yet again this year (as every year) is the repetitive and predictable gameplay that just doesn't feel like football. FIFA 14 on PC/360/PS3 is going to just be 13 with EA's usual hyped up nothing features.

There are certain ways to attack that are far more likely to result in a goal, so (online) most people play such metronomic, unrealistic football and to compete with them, you also have to play that sort of stuff to counter it. For example, being decent at dribbling and cutting inside for a shot is FAR more likely to be a goal than whipping in a cross due to the massive advantage defenders get when clearing the ball, so when out wide the majority of the time people don't cross it.

The shooting is the main factors though in this problem - when shooting, you know that some shots are 99% not worth taking because when certain animations play, the shot is always weak and/or inaccurate - one example is when the goal is 45 degrees or more to the side of where your player is facing, very rarely do these generate any power in FIFA so people avoid taking them... Instead trying to turn (often when there's not enough space) or create a chance so that their player is facing directly at the goal.

This is ridiculous, what would be genuine goalscoring opportunities in actual football are turned down because the FIFA shooting is so scripted - in PES this happens to a far lesser extent, when the ball is there to be hit then you feel you always have a reasonable chance if you time it right on your players stronger foot. The variety in the goals is far superior to what FIFA has ever had... and that's PES 2013, 2014 sounds like the biggest advancement for the series since PES3.

The even bigger problem is that their new game engine is not going to turn up on PC's..Meanwhile,PES 2014 with its new FOX Engine which, imo will offer a drastic change in the gameplay..Lets see what we actually get..And for me..PES has always been better over FIFA...its gameplay is good, and the player cam just blows the mind.
