FM11: The FM World Championship - Group KO Tournament - Fixture 1

Berlin

Berlin look strong with some outstanding players including Argentinean legend, Lionel Messi as well as Andrey Arshavin, Esteban Cambiasso, Carlos Tevez and Lisandro Lopez. Maybe a bit weak in defence but they do have Ashley Cole and Ricardo Carvalho as well as Branislav Ivanovic. Berlin also have some very promising youth players, with Yaya Sanogo, Miralem Pjanic and Fabio. Their captain for this season is Rene Adler, with midfielder Lucho Gonzalez as his second in command. Dutchmen, Louis van Gaal will be Berlin?s manager and will be looking to lead Berlin to a top half finish, which they probably should finish. Here is their full squad.

Goalkeepers:

Hugo Lloris
Rene Adler (Captain)
David Ospina

Defenders:

Ashley Cole
Fabio
Branislav Ivanovic
Anthony Reveillere
Ricardo Carvalho
Alessandro Nesta
Thomas Vermaelen
Phil Jones

Midfielders:

Esteban Cambiasso

James Rodriguez
Andrey Arshavin
Ronaldinho
Lucho Gonzalez (Vice Captain)
Miralem Pjanic

Forwards:

Lisandro Lopez
Karim Benzema
Stanley Okoro
Yaya Sanogo

I actually just realised that Paris's captain and vice captain have changed so it is Sebastien Frey who is the captain, with Marek Hamsik as vice captain. Rome's has also changed as well with Steve Mandanda (previous captain) actually the vice captain, with Samuel Eto'o as captain.

Match Day 1 Preview

The World Championship will start in 2 days time and it will be very exciting. All teams will play on that day, with the matches being Berlin vs. Paris, London vs. Auckland, Madrid vs. Rome and Melbourne vs. New York. There aren’t too many injuries that will hurt any team so all teams should be fielding close to their strongest sides and will want to hit the ground running.

Berlin Vs Paris

Berlin will be looking for a win in their opening match but Paris will be tough to crack. No injuries that will really hurt either side, with Anthony Reveillere, Alessandro Nesta and Fabio out with injury, with Ricardo Carvalho also doubtful for Berlin. Paris meanwhile can field a full strength side, with Frey the only player with any doubts but he should be fit to play on Saturday. The odds are pretty even for this game, with Berlin favourites at 5-4, but it is likely to be a draw, Paris with odds of 7-4, the draw 11-5.

David Villa will be Paris’s main man, the 28 year old Spanish striker who is deadly in front of goal, one of the best strikers in the world at the present time. He will be looking for a bright tournament. Kaka will also be looked upon for Paris to make a strong influence in this match. Berlin have a strong force upfront, but using friendly formations are likely to only play 1 striker, out of Tevez, Benzema and Lopez. As good as Berlin’s side is, you can only look to Lionel Messi for pure brilliance. Likely to play on the right hand side, Patrice Evra will have his work cut out for him, as well as the rest of the defence. Here are the 2 teams likely lineups:

Berlin:

GK: Rene Adler

LB: Ashley Cole
CB: Thomas Vermaelen
CB: Phil Jones
RB: Branislav Ivanovic

CM: Lucho Gonzalez
CM: Miralem Pjanic

LWM: Florent Malouda
CAM: Andrei Arshavin
RWM: Lionel Messi

ST: Lisandro Lopez

CB: Gerard Pique
CB: Juan
RB: Maicon

LM: Salomon Kalou

CM: Kaka
RM: Pedro

ST: Luis Suarez
ST: David Villa

London Vs Auckland

Another match that should be a fantastic one, with London going into the game as slight favourites at 5-4, with Auckland at 7-4 and the draw at 11-5. London’s world class midfield will be of strong benefit for them and you’d be expecting them to create many chances throughout the game. They are however missing Luis Fabiano through injury so it’s likely that Pato will play instead. Auckland are missing star striker, Wayne Rooney though, but that is the only injury news for the team. Auckland have a good all-round team though, but their formation might hurt them, with only 3 central midfielders and an attacking midfielder against London’s legendary midfield. Here are the likely lineups for both sides.

London:

GK: Gomes

LB: Eric Abidal
CB: Carlos Marchena
CB: Carles Puyol
RB: Darijo Srna

CM: Juan Sebastian Veron
CM: Yoann Gourcuff

CAM: David Silva

ST: Dimitar Berbatov
ST: Alexis Sanchez

Madrid Vs Rome

Madrid are favourites for this match, although Rome seem the strongest team in the competition. Madrid won’t have to worry about injuries, with all players available to them. Madrid’s Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery will be looking to contribute to their team and hopefully start them off with a win but Rome are the opposition you wouldn’t want to come up against in the first round with their stunning players including Iker Casillas, Cesc Fabregas, Cristiano Ronaldo and Edin Dzeko, the player that everyone is looking forward to seeing play in this competition. Samir Nasri however will miss this match through injury. Here are likely lineups for both sides.

Madrid:

GK: Manuel Neuer

CB: Jonathan Woodgate
CB: John Terry
CB: Pepe

LM: Franck Ribery
CM: Frank Lampard
CM: Xabi Alonso
RM: Arjen Robben

RB: Glen Johnson

LM: Gareth Bale
CM: Cesc Fabregas
CM: Javier Mascherano
RM: Cristiano Ronaldo

ST: Edin Dzeko
ST: Samuel Eto’o

Melbourne Vs New York

Melbourne will go into this match, with a good chance of winning, but both teams have even teams, although Melbourne’s home advantage would put them as slight favourites in this match. Rio Ferdinand is the only player that will not be available for this match, out with a dead leg. Melbourne have a good team all-round, as do New York and we should be in for a tight contest. Here are the 2 team’s probable lineups.

Melbourne:

GK: Gianluigi Buffon

LB: Cristian Chivu
CB: Lucio
CB: Raul Albiol
RB: Javier Zanetti

LM: Marko Marin

So those are the 4 matches on this week. This will be one exciting weekend of football and we should be in for some great matches. Join us then for all the action.

Match Day 1

London Vs Auckland

London vs. Auckland will be the match that we will be bringing you live coverage of this weekend, and it should be one stunning game. London made a different approach to the match by playing a completely different formation to that of what was played in their friendly matches. Mesut Ozil was left out of the starting XI, while Carlos Marchena was picked as a central midfielder. Pato was selected up front as well as Antonio Cassano. Edwin van der Sar was also selected over Gomes. Auckland meanwhile also played a different formation with a 4-1-2-2-1 with 2 attacking wingers. It is a more suitable formation for Auckland allowing them to play David Silva and Nani on the wings, with Veron and Essien in the central midfield while Hargreaves just slotted it behind them with the normal 4 backs. Auckland also made a surprising decision by playing Gonzalo Higuain upfront as the lone striker, although maybe it would work well for them. Here are the 2 lineups before we head down for the match.

London

GK: Edwin van der Sar

LB: Eric Abidal
CB: Thiago Silva
CB: Carles Puyol
RB: Darijo Srna

LM: Michel Bastos
CM: Steven Gerrard
CM: Carlos Marchena
RM: Luka Modric

ST: Alexandre Pato
ST: Antonio Cassano

Subs: Gomes, Kyle Walker, Mesut Ozil, Danny Wilson, Simao, Angel Di Maria, Jeremy Toulalon

Auckland

GK: Petr Cech

LB: Federico Balzaretti
CB: Walter Samuel
CB: William Gallas
RB: Bakary Sagna

CDM: Owen Hargreaves

CM: Juan Sebastian Veron
CM: Michael Essien

LWM: David Silva
RWM: Nani

ST: Gonzalo Higuain

Subs: Tim Wiese, Jordan Spence, Per Mertesacker, Ryan Giggs, Dimitar Berbatov, Rafael, Ali Al-Marzoqi

The match kicked off and UAE referee, Younis Mohammed didn’t take long to reach for his cards, booking Darijo Srna in the first minute. Luka Modric nearly scored off a free kick but some scrambling from Petr Cech denied him but another free kick, this time from just outside the box gave London a fantastic chance to open the scoring and they did, Bastos hitting it beautifully as it hit the post and went in and it was 1-0 to London within 20 minutes. Going around the grounds, Paris led Berlin 1-0 thanks to David Villa’s 13th minute goal while Rome’s Samuel Eto’o put them into the lead against Madrid with his 12th minute strike. It still remained 0-0 in the Melbourne vs. New York game though. London were on top throughout the rest of the half and Darijo Srna applied the finishing blow with a 43rd minute goal, Modric cutting back a pass to Srna who hammered it on the first touch, high into the top corner to give London a 2-0 lead going into half time. 5 yellow cards had already been given out, 3 to Auckland and 2 to London. London really had taken control of the half and Auckland would have to work hard to gain anything from the match. Meanwhile, Paris still lead Berlin 1-0, Samuel Eto’o has scored again to put his team in front after Xabi Alonso equalized for Madrid to go into the break 2-1 up and Torres’s goal for Melbourne cancelled out Drogba’s 25th minute goal to go into the break at 1-1 with New York. Auckland came out looking to attack but some nice saves from van der Sar denied them from scoring. The first change of the game was made after 62 minutes when Per Mertesacker was brought on for Bakary Sagna, with William Gallas moving to the right hand side. Neither side could create any chances though after that and Samuel was replaced by Rafael for Auckland while London also made their first change, Mesut Ozil coming on for Steven Gerrard. After a numerous amount of yellow cards, Michael Essien was the first man of the tournament to be sent off, receiving his second yellow card. London held out after that in a boring end to the second half, London taking a 2-0 win in their opening match of the season. Darijo Srna took MOTM for his performance. London were the better side in this match and both the result and statistics showed that.

Now that this match is over, let’s go around the grounds to see the results. A David Villa double and 3 second half goals for Paris secured themselves a 4-0 win over Berlin, with Alex and Zhirkhov also getting on the scoresheet. David Villa took MOTM for his 2 goals. Rome meanwhile took a 3-2 win away from home against Madrid, with Samuel Eto’o scoring 2 goals and Cristiano Ronaldo scoring 1 while Xabi Alonso had scored early to equalize at 1-1 while Milito scored the second goal to bring Madrid back to 3-2 in the 79th minute but it ended up only to be a consolation goal with Samuel Eto’o taking the MOTM award although Xabi Alonso would have been disappointed not to take it for the home side, scoring a goal as well as completing 51 passes, only missing one pass, a nice match for the Spanish midfielder. New York meanwhile took a point at Melbourne, with Drogba scoring early before Torres and Forlan both scored for Melbourne but Iniesta equalized for New York in the 59th minute with Sergio Ramos winning the man of the match award in that game. So Paris will sit on top after 1 match after an emphatic win over Berlin. The only injury news at this point in time from the weekend matches is that Juan has suffered a concussion and will miss Paris’s match with Auckland this weekend. Ledley King also suffered an injury in New York’s match against Melbourne but should be fine and nearly 100% for next weekend’s game.

Match Day 2

London Vs Rome

This game was going to be a thriller with 2 of the title contenders going at it on Match Day 2. Both teams won their first match and both teams would have to play extremely well to win this match. London went into the match with only one change made to the starting XI, with Carlos Marchena dropped for Moussa Sissoko. Rome didn?t make any changes to the side that beat Madrid last week with no injury concerns for either side. There are a few good matchups on show today with Fabregas going up against Steven Gerrard while Tottenham midfielders will be going up against each other with Gareth Bale vs. Luka Modric. Samuel Eto?o meanwhile is coming off a double so the London defence will have to be solid against the 2 strikers, with Edin Dzeko also looking to find his feet in today?s match.

ST: Samuel Eto?o (c)
ST: Edin Dzeko

Vidic losing the ball in a dangerous position gave Cassano the first opportunity of the match for London but Casillas made a nice save to deny them the opening goal. The corner nearly brought a penalty as Vidic brought Gerrard down, or so it looked but the referee deemed it fair and allowed play to go on, although London were furious at the referee. Despite London?s dominance in the first 10 minutes, it was Rome who scored first, with Edin Dzeko getting his campaign underway with a pretty simple goal. Chiellini played a great ball down the line for Eto?o who ran into the box, and the defenders didn?t close him down, allowing him to pass through to Dzeko on the edge of the 6 yard box who was unmarked and applied the finishing touch to put Rome up 1-0 after 11 minutes. The game continued with either side making many chances, and those that were made, went to waste with the target failing to be hit. Bale scored though during stoppage time but the assistant referee brought the end of the celebrations by raising his flag, Bale just in an offside position. It seemed like it would be a 1-0 score line going into the halftime break but Dzeko made that not the case with his second goal, right on the half time break. Always one to watch out for in the air, Bale put in a great cross into the centre and the defender must have thought he had it covered but Dzeko came in with a great header, getting above Puyol to head the ball home for Rome?s second and Dzeko now was on his way for a hattrick. London had really been on top for most of the half, with 58% of possession and 10 shots on goal, to Rome?s 5 but Rome made their chances pay, and had Edin Dzeko to thank for their 2-0 lead. Going around the grounds, it was still goalless in the Auckland and Paris match, Madrid vs. New York also 0-0 at the halftime break. Berlin however were looking to be in with another high scoring match, 2 all at the break, with goals to Messi and Pandev for Berlin while Torres and Sneijder had scored for Melbourne.

Edin Dzeko was booked less than a minute into the second half which wouldn?t be helpful for him. Cristiano Ronaldo finally showed his magic with a great run down the sideline before cutting back in, but his curling shot went just wide of the goal. Rome had definitely came out of the break very positive as they were on top of London and Dzeko set up Ronaldo for a really good shooting opportunity in the 58th minute but his shot cannoned off the post and out for a goal kick. The referee was being very lenient today, it seemed when he denied Rome?s claims for a penalty, when Ronaldo was brought down by 2 defenders in the box off a corner but again did the referee allow play to go on. With 8 minutes to go, Dzeko missed the perfect chance to complete his hattrick when he hit it right at the keeper from inside the 6 yard box but the result was pretty much settled. London didn?t believe it to be over though, when Cassano slid in to bring London back to within 1 goal with 5 minutes remaining. Could Rome score another late goal though to take a point here at Wembley. They couldn?t though as Rome held out to take a 2-1 win in the biggest match so far of the season. Dzeko took a deserved MOTM for his double which really put Rome on top going into half time.

Around the grounds, only 1 goal was scored in the second half from all 3 games, with Tevez scoring to give Berlin a 3-2 win. The Auckland vs. Paris game finished with a boring 0-0 result but Auckland captain, Juan Sebastian Veron got himself sent off in the 50th minute but Paris couldn?t take advantage of the extra man as they now have 4 points in 2 matches. The Madrid vs. New York match also finished 0-0 with Sergio Ramos being sent off late in the game. So Rome will be sitting on top of the table, as they are the only team to win both games. All teams have at least a point though after 2 games. There were a few injuries from this weeks games. Ashley Cole has been ruled out for the next 2 weeks with a bruised thigh, so he will miss Berlin?s next 2 matches. Also in the Berlin vs. Melbourne match, Fernando Torres suffered a more serious injury, a groin strain, that will keep him out for between 4 to 5 weeks, a big blow to the Melbourne side. Daniel Agger was the only other injury to report about, a dead leg which might keep him out of New York?s next weeks game against Auckland.

Match Day 2 Results:

Auckland 0 - 0 Paris
Berlin 3 - 2 Melbourne
London 1 - 2 Rome
Madrid 0 - 0 New York

Again, viewers can choose which of next weeks games, they want to see. The 4 matches are:

Melbourne Vs Madrid
New York Vs Auckland
Paris Vs London

Match Day 3

Rome Vs Berlin

Rome went into this match winning their first 2 games and on top of the ladder while Berlin sat in 4th position with a win and a loss from their opening 2 games. The match was going to be a good one to watch. Samir Nasri and Ashley Cole were the only players that were definately ruled out after their previous matches but Rome suffered 2 further injuries midweek with Iker Casillas suffering a thigh strain during training which will keep him out for around a month and he will be very disappointed to be injured. Samuel Eto'o was also injured in training, twisting his knee which will also keep him out for around a month. The skippers injury is a big blow after he scored 2 goals in the opening game to give Rome the win over Madrid and also set up one of Dzeko's goals against London. So Nicolas Anelka and Steve Mandanda come into the Rome side for the injured Casillas and Eto'o. Meanwhile, Berlin made a few changes with Rene Adler coming into the side for Hugo Lloris although there was no apparent availabity issues for Lloris. Alessandro Nesta and Andrey Arshavin also come in for Ashley Cole and Goran Pandev.

CAM: Andrey Arshavin
RWM: Lionel Messi

ST: Carlos Tevez

The game started off well, bringing some entertainment in the first 10 minutes in a quick tempo game, but chances came to nothing as some optimistic shots went well off target. The game slowed down after that though as chances became less common but Dzeko managed to put one in the back of the net 7 minutes before half time but the goal was disallowed, Dzeko ruled to be offside, and rightly so. Dzeko nearly scored a blinder less than a minute later as his curving shot was saved brilliantly by Adler who tapped it over the top for a corner. Rome tried hard to get on the scoresheet before half time but Berlin's defence held strong and the game was still in the balance at 0-0 going into half time. Around the grounds, Paris and London were playing each other, fighting for second position but neither side had managed to score in the opening 45 minutes. Goals for Mata and Forland meanwhile in the opening 15 minutes meant Melbourne led 2-0 over Madrid going into the break and New York led Auckland 2-1 thanks to goals from Didier Drogba and Andres Iniesta, Rooney being Auckland's only scorer.

No changes were made to either side at half time but Rome still had the likes of Michael Ballack and Neymar on the bench while Eden Hazard would be looking to make his first appearance of the season. Would Lisandro Lopez get a run for Berlin tonight, the Argentinian striker yet to play in the competition this season. Anelka had the perfect chance to score though, only 40 seconds into the half time but he put too much power on it and the ball went sailing over the bar. A one on one chance wasted for Rome. Neither side managed to score though but Nesta went down after 69 minutes with a head injury and had to be taken off, Branislav Ivanovic on for him. Berlin made another change 5 minutes later, with Ronaldinho coming on for Florent Malouda. An excellent run from Cristiano Ronaldo nearly gave them the opening goal of the game but he couldn't place the finishing shot as the keeper didn't have to move to parry the ball down and a diving header from Edin Dzeko went straight to him again. Rome finally made a substitution with 3 minutes remaining as Jefferson Farfan was brought on for Nicolas Anelka hoping it would bring a winning goal. Ronaldinho had the perfect chance to break the deadlock with only minutes remaining but hit it straight to Mandanda and Rome went onto the counter, only to win a corner with 90 seconds of stoppage time remaining. The corner came to nothing though as both sides shared the points in a goalless draw, although Rome would have been gutted not to win this one after all the opportunities they had. Thomas Vermaelen took the MOTM award for Berlin but no players really did that well.

Around the grounds, a late equaliser from Wayne Rooney meant Auckland drew 3-3 with New York, after New York had gone 3-1 up, less than 5 minutes into the second half thanks to an Arteta goal before Nani brought Auckland back within one a couple of minutes later and Rooney's late equaliser meant Auckland moved up from last place. Forlan meanwhile scored a second goal early in the second half to give Melbourne a comfortable 3-0 win over Madrid. Paris vs London was always going to be a good tight match and the end result showed it, with a 1-1 draw with goals to Pedro for Paris and Pato for London in the second half meaning Paris stayed second whlie London dropped down to 4th. Steven Gerrard had been injured in that match, suffering a concussion which will keep him out for around 2 weeks. Nesta had suffered a broken nose which will keep him out for a few weeks and Walter Samuel injured his hip during Auckand's 3-3 draw and will be missing from action for 3 months.

Match Day 3 Results:

Melbourne 3 - 0 Madrid
New York 3 - 3 Auckland
Paris 1 - 1 London
Rome 0 - 0 Berlin

Rome, seems to be quite a contender for the title it seems.
Berlin are pretty good as well.
it might be a battle between the two.

Match Day 4

Paris Vs Madrid

Both sides went into this match injury free apart and only Federico Macheda would be missing because of an International callup but he probably wouldn't have played anyway. Paris would go into this game as favourites, with a very powerful starting XI with the likes of Evra, Pique and Maicon at the back, De Rossi, Xavi and Zhirkov in the midfield and David Villa up front, a very Spanish oriented team with 4 Spanish players in the starting XI. Madrid shouldn't be underestimated though with a reasonable backline, some great wingers in Ribery and Robben and their central midfield is very good with Lampard and Xabi Alonso with also Milito up front. We could expect a good game, with Madrid really needing a win.

Paris started off well, nearly getting on the board in the 2nd minute, when Alex headed a dangerous ball off a corner at the goal but Reina made a nice save to tip it over for another corner. Pedro headed the ball this time but it had gone over the bar and Madrid survived the early scare. Xavi would have been really disappointed though when he missed an open goal, after David Villa's shot deflected off the goalkeeper right into his path but he skewed the shot wide. The game quietened after that though and not many more chances were created in the half, as the game went into the break at 0-0. Maybe we should have been commentating on the Rome-Melbourne game, which was 2-2 at the break, Dzeko and Fabregas getting on the scoresheet for Rome and Valencia and Forlan scoring for Melbourne. New York were still level with London at the break and a Wayne Rooney goal on the 27th minute meant Auckland led Berlin 1-0 at the break.

The second half continued to play out a boring match, as neither side could create golden opportunities for scoring. The game went into the last 10 minutes still at 0-0 with either side yet to make a substitution. Paris really should have had the lead by then though, with 13 corners and 13 free kicks, a fair few in attacking positions but couldn't make use of any of them. Xavi went close with 6 minutes remaining in the game when his longe range attempt was saved well by Reina. Madrid finally made a triple change in the 86th minute when Dejan Stankovic, Sergio Aguero and Leighton Baines were brought on for Franck Ribery, Diego Milito and Jose Bosingwa. It made no difference though as the game finished as a 0-0 draw, Pepe taking the MOTM award for Madrid.

In the other games, 2 goals in the last 10 minutes from Berlin meant they won 2-1 over Auckland, Tevez and Pandev the scorers while Sissoko scored in the 80th minute to give London a 1-0 win. The final match was the one to look out for and Rome finally fell, losing their first goal, after Valencia scored his second goal as Melbourne won 3-2. That win moves Melbourne up to first and London now are in 2nd while Rome has dropped down to third and Berlin has moved up to 4th now while Madrid stay in last place, now with 2 draws and 2 losses from their 4 matches.

Match Day 4 Results:

Auckland 1 - 2 Berlin
New York 0 - 1 London
Paris 0 - 0 Madrid
Rome 2 - 3 Melbourne

Match Day 5

Melbourne Vs Paris

Another big match for both sides with Melbourne looking to solidify their spot at the top of the table. Both side had injury worries, with Sneijder, Arbeloa and Chivu definately out for Melbourne with Fernando Torres also very doubtful. Paris were also missing key player, Danielle De Rossi along with Robinho and both sides would have their work cut out for them today. Paris were still yet to lose in the competition but sat in 4th place with 3 draws from their 4 games although they only were behind by one point to the top 3. It was a very big match in the context of the competition.

The first 10 minutes brought chances for either side but it was Paris who got on the board first, thanks to an own goal from Naldo, as he slid on David Villa who was in front of goal but ony managed in kicking the ball into his own net and Paris were up 1-0 already. Melbourne had a good chance to equalise through Forlan but he hit it straight at the keeper and Paris pushed for a second goal a bit later and got it, this time through Pedro as Zhirkhov's cross slid across the face of goal and Pedro slid in beautifully to knock the ball home for Paris's second goal. Pique had the chance to extend that lead a couple of minutes before half time off a free kick but his header was off target. Around the grounds, Ronaldinho in his second start for Berlin this season scored a goal but it was cancelled out right on the stroke of half time but Antonio Cassano so Berlin and London went in 1-1 at the half time break. In Madrid, Auckland had failed to add to Madrid's woes as neither side managed to score in the first half and the final game between Rome and New York was set up to be an absolute thriller, with Jesus Navas scoring for New York in the 4th minute but Dzeko scored 2 later on in the first half to give Rome a 2-1 lead going into the break with a good chance to go back on top of the ladder.

Toni Kroos was taken off at the half time interval for Melbourne, with Miroslav Klose coming on with Melbourne reverting to a normal 4-4-2 formation. Melbourne then found themselves 3-0 down only 5 minutes into the second half, when Zhirkhov hammered the ball into the top of the net. It got even worse for Melbourne though as both Sergio Busquets and Lucio were forced off injured and UAE defender, Abdullah Musa Asad came onto the field to replace him. The rest of the match didn't bring much excitement though as Paris ended up winning 3-0, an excellent result for them in a match that they were expected to lose in. Yury Zhirkhov played superbly and picked up the MOTM for his goal and assist. Melbourne's captain, Javier Zanetti though was probably the weakest player on the field as he didn't really get involved as a captain should and he knows he should have done more.

Meanwhile, Berlin and London remained at 1-1, Sagna scored in the second half for Auckland to give them their first win of the season, as Madrid's horrid season continued. More twists and turns occured in Rome though as Young scored a second half double for New York to give them a miraculous 3-2 win over Rome, as Rome moved further down the ladder. Paris' win now takes them top of the ladder with London still sitting in second and Berlin now moves up to third. It should be a very tightly contested competition though, with only Madrid looking not in it at the moment.

Match Day 5 Results:

Berlin 1 - 1 London
Madrid 0 - 1 Auckland
Melbourne 0 - 3 Paris
Rome 2 - 3 New York
