FOOTBALL Football Manager Discussion

I've heard there are some game-ruining bugs in it. Something about keeper positioning?

No game ruining bugs at all. They made a slight mistake with keeper positioning by forgetting to link it into Shot Stopping but they've already patched it.

Runs very well all told.

Just finished my first season as Newcastle on FM12. Came 9th and won the FA Cup (knocked Arsenal, City and Man U out, so I feel I deserved it) and won the Community Shield (beat Man U 3-1). Loving my team at the moment and loving FM12.

In regards to the keeper positioning bug, I've only noticed my keeper act up once and that was when a cross was swung in, my keeper basically legged it in the other direction and left an open goal, so I dunno if that is linked? Apart from that, I haven't noticed any game ruining bugs.

Nice one, I'll probably pick it up some time this week.

Possibly, the error was that they hadn't linked in positioning into the keeper training meaning all keepers would dramatically lose their positioning skill as they couldn't train for it. They patched it with a hotfix a couple of days ago.

Awesome season that.

I'm currently in charge of Worcester City in the Blue Square North 13 games in. Had a bright start, currently 3rd with 22 points from the 13 games played with media expectations of 11th. Sadly I'm 7 points off second and only four points behind me is 11th, looks like a long hard season ahead to say anywhere near the play offs long term.

Got knocked out the FA Cup in the third qualifying round as well which irked me as we could've done with getting into the cup proper for the potential cash we could bring in.

Good work Themer. My favouritest FM was where I started without a club, did a failed tour of Italy and Spain, to be fair to me, I twice got given teams already well adrift and automatically lost my jobs when the inevitable relegation took us out the playable leagues. Got another job in England at Stalybridge Celtic, again already seemingly doomed. This time I kept them up, and after two years of stabilising the club slowly started to make progress.

Removed the debts, started to turn a profit, and then after a good summer made a push for promotion. Up into the football leagues we went and shortly after part time Stalybridge were full time. During that time I also randomly got given the USA job and guided them to World Cup glory (Eddie Johnson was ridiculously good, pace and acceleration 20 if I remember correctly). Helped that I had an easy draw and Brazil the semi finals went down to 9 men after 20 minutes as I won 4-3. No chance against 11 men clearly.

Then, that summer, Real Madrid flashed their chequebook and off I went as I left Stalybridge a fully professional mid table league 1 club and proud owners of an 8,000 all seater stadium. I'd like to think they named a stand after me... *sniff*

Yeah, now that everything is running, it's all good and I'm used to the game now although I still don't know how to get my assistant to compile a bloody loan report.

Managing FC United (doing Dafuge's challenge) and after a less than impressive start to the season with a few draws and a loss following an opening day win, have turned things around with some good performances and results to match. Signed a winger who was released by Tottenham (Laste Dombaxe), who is absolutely gun, topping the scoring charts for us (although with only 5 :p) and a few assists. Has got a heap of potential, good League one winger iirc (that or leading League 2) :)

if anyone has the new football manager would they be willing to do me a favour? just take a screen shot of someone I know that started working for a club, I dunno if they'll even be in the game but if they are I want to send them a screen shot. pm me, don't want to give their name out on the board. thanks :)

Bought the game, installed and ready to go. Now I just need to decide who to be. :p

Not really a fan of picking lower league clubs. Decided to go with Newcastle. Signed Sturridge on loan - no idea why he was listed by Chelsea, but I couldn't say no to that. Could probably do with another central midfielder for depth as Tiote will probably get suspended a lot.

Yeah, I signed Sturridge on loan in my Stuttgart save. I finished my first season with FC United yesterday, finishing first despite Corby having the 2 best strikers in the league who managed well over 50 goals between them (are league 1 quality playing in BSN) but their defence wasn't great meaning they only finished 4th but did promote (from playoffs). Signed David Petrucci on a free transfer who is absolutely gun. I signed him in my FC Halifax saVe last season and managed to get him again this season. Unfortunately, Sean McGinty won't join.

The club just completed building the new stadium - Zola Park. United were the first team to visit and I trounced them 3-0 nicely in the league. Few games later...

That I think is the first time a league opposition failed to get shot away against me! Was really surprised when I saw those stats after the game.
