One word.

Owen :D

Marvelous to see him partnering with Shearer again.

Im so ****in happy.

Not even going to wait until you see him in a Newcastle shirt before you get so happy?

Ste

why the heck has owen joined newcastle,he shd have joined liverpool, although i dont think benitez wants owen,we may see owen score goals for newcastle but newcastle themselves will be leaking goals,so he'll usually end up in the losing side especially against big teams.

Im a liverpool fan against benitez,i mean he's two two arial strickers, all he needs now is a finisher and he could have so easily got one.Bad move frm liverpool.

Nice pictures.. ste. Great stadium..........u must had a great time there. :)

:cheers

Im still confused as to why Owen chose Newcastle over Liverpool. Liverpool are European champions and Newcastle are probably the biggest under achievers ever in the premiership (no offence) Souness has done nothing for Newcastle and once Shearer retires at the end of this season they will no doubt be turning their reliance for goals towards Owen which puts more pressure on him.

I think the problem for Liverpool was that Rafa sold Owen in the first place and so would have been made to look quite a fool if he bought him back a year after selling him so he probably wasnt as enthusiastic about bringing him back which is a shame really as I would have liked to see an Owen-Cisse partnership!

How did owen choose newcastle over liverpool, Liverpool did not want him!!!

I admit our defence is a major problem but thats it now. We have the best forwards a marvelous midfield and id say the best keeper in the premiership. Yes better than Cech. Cech is good but if Given had the Chelsea defence he would defanitely be the best keeper in the prem.

Why else would they hold talks with him?

Yes you do have one of the strongest midfields in the premiership, but the fact that you have about 7 or 8 midfielders is a problem especially with rotation and getting a solid base for a midfield together. Given is a good keeper, but saying he is better than Cech is a bit of an over statement. Yes Given has made some amazing saves for Newcastle but with Cech you get everything, even when his team are on top and he doesnt have to do much, you would expect most keepers to go off the boil and maybe lose concentration and make mistakes, but Cech still keeps consistency and makes the fantastic saves and is one of the main reasons why Chelsea are champions IMO.

I still think we can finish in the top 4 definately.

I mean 3 years ago we were bottom after 8 games and still finished 4th.

To all Liverpool fans.

Shame. :D

For ?80,000 a week, you don't expect any footballer to go off the boil. Strongest midfields? Your having a laugh.

They have some serious talent in their midfield, Jenas, Dyer, Emre, Faye, Milner, Bowyer, Parker........talk about strength in debt, most managers would love to have those players at their disposal its just playing them all thats the problem for Souness and finding the right combination.

To be honest Jenas is a bag of ****. Very overhyped. Id be glad to see him go.

Jenas has gone to Tottenham. Whats everyones opinion on this?

Not a bad move. It benefits both clubs ;)

Price was a tad too high though. And I'm sick of Tottenham buying talented youngsters and not even playing them(not that Jenas won't get played) :mad

Sure, the policy of recruiting youngsters is good, but not to the point that 15+ players don't even get played.
