Not good news for Mido, me thinks. Wonder if other EPL clubs might show an interest in him. If I were in Moyes' shoes, I would buy him.

Should be a good buy,from the little of what Ive seen of him,he looked good and could be a good goalscorer.Does this mean that Defoe is leaving then?

Naah! Siddo. The possible out cast if Berbatov is roped in would be Mido. Spurs have shown no interest in renewing his contract from Roma. Defoe is a good prospect and Spurs would try to hold on to him.

Also heard that Chelski are trying to nab Roberto Carlos.

True,but Defoe hardly got chances when Mido and Keane were preffered last season.So how would they improve if they bring in Berbatov(even assuming that Mido leaves),he would still be probably in the bench for most games,and maybe due to the reason he might be wanting to leave.
