Will the new forum mean the way we publish news articles changes Matt?

Is it just me or everyone?

 Did anyone understand this ?

I guess he's saying the software of the forums that he uses and what he thinks of them.

There's a forum I use that still uses circa-2001 vb2 modified by an incompetent coder literally kept together by string. Like it was before vb had search and the one they created hasn't worked since May and was once broken for two years. I think they're finally thinking of upgrading to something less medieval, but you really can't tell with something awful...

vBulletin has been such a mainstay of the forum world, certainly the ones I've visited for years and years. It's quite old and dated, even with the updates and I guess I'm used to PC.net constantly looking like the late 90s. Lots of differences with XF but I like em and change us always a good thing.

A look at the current version of vBulletin shows why we're not going in that direction.

I've not been a member of a XenForo forum myself - it's new to me as much as anyone, but the modern platform, including ongoing support and updates is crucial going forward.

There's some really nice stuff we can do with XenForo that would have been near impossible on here. The responsive design to make the site fully functional on phones and tablets is worth the shift by itself imo.

I much prefer browsing the testing site on the phone, needs to be tweaked a little to be slightly less cluttered but the ability to see non-intrusive avatars on the mobile device is really great.
