Fantastic ! How many viruses can it detect ?

Seriously guys, I wouldn't bother with this. Leave anti-virus software to the professionals, there is no way one person can code software to detect even a small fraction of the viruses in distribution let alone release updates on a daily basis to keep up with the constant threat. There are plenty of very good free anti-virus programs available for download like AVG, Avast or Panda.

Have to say that I agree with Kev on this one. Virus threats appear by the hour (if not quicker) and if you're serious about competing in the market you need to make sure that you're capable of releasing quick update.

Come on guys you can atleast appreciate the work done by her.

Don't get me wrong, I don't wish to discourage anyone from expanding their programming skills, but I would have serious reservations that others might use this as their sole anti-virus protection means, and that's just irresponsible.

This might be good for learning but I agree with Kev its not possible for a single person to develop and keep updating an Anti-Virus software. Also its not a good idea to develop it in VB.

What's the point in this ? This has been lifted straight off Planet Source Code with some graphical modifications. Check this link.

Nobody is knocking the work (although AbBh rightly points out that it has been modified from an existing program) its just that anti virus protection is serious business.

A simple program such as this could easily be hacked leading people into thinking that they installing some legit but are actually infecting their machines or as Kev points out they will use this and feel safe although it may have out of date detection signatures and actually leave them vulnerable to rapid evolving threats.
