Final Position: 4th
Top Run Scorer: Joseph Murch (588 runs)
Highest Wicket Taker: Norval Watkin (18 wickets)
MVP: Joseph Murch (588 runs @ 58.8)
It was a reasonable season in T20 cricket, finishing an expected 4th position with a younger squad. Joseph Murch was our star with the bat, scoring over 500 runs while Watkin took 18 wickets. 16 year old bowler, Ciaran Fitzgerald was also a good looking bowler taking 12 wickets in his 13 matches although had been really expensive. Healy meanwhile at 17 years of age had been excellent taking 12 wickets @ 20.58 with an ER of 6.86. 20 year old spinner, Andrew Whiteman also played well taking 13 wickets @ 26 and an ER of 7. None of the young batsman did that well apart from Murch and it was only Pettinger who did superbly with the bat other than him, scoring 436 runs @ 72.67. Next season will hopefully bring more improvements and Moxly will be one player to look out for, the soon to be 20 all-rounder now looking to slot into the senior team now that his youth career is over.
I topped 5.10 with only one loss when I played a whole heap of second team and youth players.
Top run scorer for me was John Mangan, a youth team player who scored 571 runs from 9 innings at an average of 95.17. This included 3 centuries and one fifty with a top score of 176. This placed him second on the league stats.
Top wicket taker was Brahmadhara Kallichuran who took 14 from 8 matches at an average of 10.71. This was down at 13th on the chart. Mostly because I kept rotating bowlers.
Leauge - 5.12 Position - 2nd Highest Total: 257-2
Placed 2nd in leauge 5.12 with 12 wins and 2 losses. Missed out by 4 points to the topper of the league.
Top Run Scorers :
John Rock - 463 runs at 77.17 from 11 matches
Roul Buijs - 363 runs at 72.90 from 12 matches
Batting was a fail this time in T20's to be honest, bowling did way too better. Top run scorer of the league have 1095 runs and my players made only 463. Huge difference. I think I need to strenghthen my batting.
Though I've rotated my players this seasom but still batsmen should've made more.
Top Wicket Takers :
Derek Helfrich - 21 wickets @6.52 from 9 matches
Michael Charles - 19 wickets @8.00 from 9 matches
Kiran Sreeyash - 15 wickets @13.87 from 9 matches
Bowling was really great, standout performances. Derek Helfrich was kind of the best bowler of the league, the leading wicket taker had 27 wickets @11.37 from 14 matches.
Also Helfrich have the best average, best Strike rate and best economy rate of all. Well done son.
Michael Charles and Kiran Sreeyash were good performers too.
Needed a HUGE win in my last game to overtake Tempest. A 9 wicket win with 109 balls remaining wasn't big enough and finished second due to NRR. Started the season playing a second string team, which I believe cost me in the end. The wins I were racking up were big but Tempest played a first XI team every game which proved the difference in his superior NRR. Also, my team was a lot weaker at the start of the season.
Only one loss throughout the season, a 33 run loss to Tempest in Round 4. I managed to exact revenge with a close 4 wicket win to give me a chance to finish first if I could get my NRR up.
I am not looking forward to the wage hit next season. Especially now that I have an excep player and quite a few specs. Should be getting 350k in prize money though.
I have 1 spec batsman (spec/outs) and bowler (spec/spec). I also have 5 players that are outs/outs (2 batsman, 1 keeper-batsman and 2 bowlers).
My spinners would be the strong point of my squad. One is the spec/spec bolwer I mentions and the other is a outs/outs with reasonable batting. Plus their wrist spinner but I doubt that will have anything to do with match ratings.
