Game becomes choppy

Hi,

I recently bought Cricket 2005 and am having some trouble playing it. After 5 overs, the game becomes very choppy and is impossible to play. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix it. I've even tried saving the game at the 4 over mark and restarting the game and reloading it, but it still becomes choppy after the 5th over.

I am running the game on a P4 1.4 GHz laptop with a ATI Radeon 9000 graphics card. The game resolution is 640x480 and I have turned shadows off.

Hmmm... It is similar to when you have huge lag when playing FPS games online. The frames per second are extremely low. It feels as if the complete bowling sequence happens in 20 frames, but it takes the same amount of time for those 20 frames to display as it would for a normal situation. Does that make any more sense?

Try turning other every graphics option,off and if the game continues to lag,then try reinstalling it.Perhaps it could also be happening as you are using a laptop,I really dont think that they are game friendly.Cheers.

usy57_pak, what you could also try is making sure that all programs in the background are not working, especially your security suite. Programs like MSN messenger and Outlook can make the game 'choppy'. Zone Alarm and Norton are the worst when playing a game! Good Luck!

I think you're spot-on Kush. Virus software can cause problems when playing games. However, I have a sneaky suspicion that you don't have a lot of RAM. Do you only have 256Mb by any chance?

I have 512Mb of RAM. Also, I don't run either of Norton or Zone Alarm or MSN Messenger or Outlook. I run McAfee Virus scanner and shutting it down didn't solve it.

Looks like I'll have to return the game back to the store. I've had terrible luck with EA games. Last year, I had to return EA FIFA back as it was running super fast.

A number of people have had the super-fast problem with C2K5 as well. It turned out to be an issue with VSync. You must have VSync enabled to play on most laptops it would seem. You should be able to find the VSync etting in your advanced graphics options.

Two other things to check. Are you using the latest ATI drivers and Catalyst Control Centre? And what is the size of your page file? You might find you can squeeze a bit more out of your machine if you increase the size of the page file. If you're unfamiliar with this process, I reccommend you read and follow this excellent article/tutorial.

i don have this prob mate , i was try to tell what might could be worng with choppy thing ...

i had missing texture prob which is getting solved , i have got the graphic card just to be installed when i take it to a pc shop soon to be installed in hard drive .... fanx

another possibility could be overheating, when my comp overheats it becomes sluggish, so I swith on my extra fan and bingo! it works, but its only a possibilty.....

Solve it

First of all disable ur background running programs in Laptop, and then if it will not work then reformat ur system and install the game again i think that will help u, if not then buy a new computer and play game.

plzzz help me i baught gefrorce fx 5200 , 128 mb , 62 bits .. plzzzzz it goes red , transparent etc and even the game menuz ..... some times it it perfent the graphic ???
