Exceptional article. Looking at the stats, there is a noticeable difference between the number of matches played by Smith/Warner (only 2 players in the top 9 to play less than 148 games) and the rest of the top scorers. Big players (and the team in itself) not playing enough games is one of the most important reasons why Australia has recently struggled in ICC tournaments. While most of their rivals keep playing games to build up a chemistry between the players and to maintain a settled XI (India and England do this best), Australia simply don't play enough and consequently don't have a stable first team.Fantastic article by Jarrod Kimber, as always
