General Cricket Discussion

What's all the fuss about? They look like a bunch of schoolkids complaining to their professors.

Yes, there were some umpiring decisions that didnt go their way, but why didn they take the review when they had the option to do so? The Sarel Erwee one, they did and it was overturned. So, what were they expecting? Saving review doesnt add to the total WTC points.

Secondly, sledging - come on! Seriously? Making up for lost time-they lost the test within days. Making up for that lost time wouldn't have helped them/rager it is irrelevant.

Never come across a bunch of sore losers than these. The fact that their board officials get involved in such petty arguments is pretty hard to digest. This certainly isnt the 1st time thisnhas happened. Remember the CWC 2015,when the sitting ICC President commented on the state of umpiring.

I do hope for the betterment of cricket, they stay away from lodging such frivolous cases. Focusing on the game will be better for them.

Kids these days ...

Twelve teams to get automatic entry into 2024 men's T20 World Cup. I believe this is good news for the Associates. Hope the ICC stick to this decision for the years to come.

I was watching some old T20, and noticed this on the old Channel 4 scorecard. Very odd how it took other broadcasters until about 2013 to start showing dot balls more regularly instead of maidens.
I remember the IPL scorecards showed dots right since 2011.

Just watched this game and found this-

"Suraj Randiv"

There's a name I've not seen in a while
CSK just dumped him for Jadeja and Jakati and that was followed by the Chepauk Protest against Sri Lankans. Sri Lanka on the other hand starting using more of Tilakaratne Dilshan while Senanyake, Dilruwan Perera, Ajantha Mendis and Akila were rotated amongst themselves. I think Randiv himself wasn't anything more than a decent spinner.

Liton Das has quietly become one of the best keeper batsmen in red ball cricket over the last 24 months. Could potentially become the greatest Bangladeshi batsman at this rate.

It's a big take but it could age like a fine wine.

He's 7th on hundreds (8 behind Mominul), 8th on runs (3,000-odd behind Mushfiq), 5th on average (3.5 behind Tamim) and has yet to post any 200+ monuments. He's also only 27 and unrecognisable from the right-handed Dickwella present for his first 20-25 Tests, averaging over 50 since 2020
