Cricket nowadays has slowly become more of a TV extravaganza ala a Netflix special. There are boundaries now that are 50-60m in some stadiums and the size of the bats has become a little ridiculous. You'd have to be a madman even to attempt that shot against Garner/Holding/Marshall.

Credit to SKY, ABD and the like knowing that the bounce is going to be fair and that they don't even need to find the middle of the bat anymore to get the distance. Can't hate the player, hate the game.

It's become a joke that each side can hit 15/20 sixes an inning - ultimately devaluing the six.

I genuinely think that SKY could muster up a good inns in those conditions against those guys from the 80s though. His movement is very fast, even when compared to AB, and his hand-eye coordination could be as comparable to Viv. The issue though being if he is brave enough to try those shots, at the cost of getting beheaded, as you rightfully said ‘madman’. Would be very interesting.

Yeah they really neutered the game and its indeed more of an entertainment than a sport now.
