General Cricket Discussion

Who would win, if a tri-series were to be organized among the Chokers of World Cricket?

India-South Africa & New Zealand.

Just to increase the element of fun via DLS< this should be scheduled in Sri Lanka. My initial prediction being that India will, as usual reach the finals, where they will be beaten by NZ. SA will huff and puff and lose to India in the last round-robin match (from a winning position)

Speaking of tri-series, with T20 again dominating the LO schedule for most teams, wouldn't it make sense to have some T20 tri-series?

The reason I heard for them not being common nowadays was that they weren’t as profitable as bilaterals.

It actually doesn't. The T20 format seems to have been given a greater level of hype by the ICC. Even if they were to have a tri-series, the understanding is that the seres should get done in 7 days. The individual boards will push for a rest day in between bringing this up to 15 days.

In fact, when they first had the T20 World Cup in South Arica, the entire event got done in 13 days flat. Fast-paced is the term they had used to describe this format and that is exactly what it was. Double headers each day and semi-finals on the same day- the perfect setup. If the ICC reverts to such a scheduling again, it will be quite exciting.

Or a ten team World Cup where India and Pakistan play twice in a double round robin league.

How about a world cup where 8 teams play a round robin format and India Pakistan play a 7 match bi-lateral

Top two of 8 play a semi final 1
And top two of Ind vs Pak play semi final 2

India play Pakistan seven times, everyone else plays a knock out and the winner beats India in the final.

They will change the format to a league system where the league winner takes home the Cup.

The teams ranked 2-5 will engage in semis-Final to decide the Plate Winner.

By 2015, 2019standings, they will award the trophy to India, the rest will try to work out the Plate Championship :grinning:

If a batsman remains not out without facing even a single delivery, does that innings count in his stats?

Ruturaj Gaikwad got runout on 0(0) and that innings was indeed counted in this T20I innings stats

Now question remains if someone comes in last over and remains not out on 0(0)* whether that innings will count as well or not. Guess we need to find one such scorecard
