General Cricket Discussion

I asked for a reason...because you failed to understand what I had written quite plainly which I assumed was a result of a lack of English comprehension on your part.

If that is not the case, then it seems you're just trying to be funny. Trying being the key word.

Putting aside my supposed lack of English comprehension and your usual juvenile snipes whilst being on top of the world’s tiniest hill… India have both hosted and toured Pakistan since the last time Bangladesh toured Australia for a test series and England have played a series of any sort with Zimbabwe and yet you don’t seem to be pulling that up. Wonder if that’s because you can’t do your usual routine of ‘India bad’ with those examples. ;)

You're just making a mockery of yourself :crylaugh:

BUT since English if your first language, let's hold you accountable.

So you replied with: "Ah yes, test cricket is dying because India refuses to play Pakistan."

Now please quote where I said that.

Sigh.

So you concede you got caught up in your own jingoism and thought I said something I didn't?

It can happen, it's always less embarrassing to own a mistake than to act like it didn't happen.

Nope.

What happens is that I quote your original post and then you go “aha, but I didn’t say those exact words right? Gotcha!”. Kinda proven by you accusing me of jingoism of all the people on this site.

If I wanted more of these interactions I’d go back to r/cricket.

No it's not that easy. You may have forgotten BCCI a few years ago made similar threats about ICC events but backed off when no one listened.
This was in 2002- the reason back then was Ambush Marketing, the newly institutes clause from the ICC.

In fact, India had pulled out of the ICC CT 2000, which they jointly won with SRL. We played that entire series in plain blue, without a sponsor. The ICC did lose some money there and wanted to avoid a repeat of the same in 2003. The rule was bent slightly to allow for subsidiaries of the parent sponsor to brand their logo on the team's jersey.

Other than the 2002/2003 , I do not remember any other time that the BCCI threatened an ICC event.

Just saw Twitter news- Shan Masood asking the ICC to protect Test match cricket by introducing standard match fee.

How is the ICC responsible for this? Individual boards will decide how much to pay their players. It was never the ICC' s to define.

Because the ICC distributes most of the money that boards will make

Not particularly complicated in all fairness given that most, if not all tests played these days are a part of the WTC which is an ICC event.
