General Cricket Discussion

I just made an all-format ranking for International Teams based on their average ranking across all the formats in ICC Rankings. Only the 20 teams that play at least 2 formats (The ODI Nations) are considered. The average rankings are in brackets

1. :ind: India (1)
2. :aus: Australia (2.67)
3. :eng: England (3.67)
4. :nzf: New Zealand (4.33)
5. :saf: South Africa (4.33)
6. :pak: Pakistan (5)
7. :sri: Sri Lanka (7.33)
8. :wi: West Indies (8.33)
9. :ban: Bangladesh (8.67)
10. :afg: Afghanistan (9.5)
11. :zim: Zimbabwe (10.67)
12. :sco: Scotland (13)
13. :ire: Ireland (13)
14. :nam: Namibia (14)
15. :ned: Netherlands (15)
16. :nep: Nepal (15)
17. :uae: UAE (18)
18. :oma: Oman (18)
19. :usa: United States (19.5)
20. :can: Canada (20)

Good exercise but it also just goes to show stats/numbers can be somewhat misleading. Australia currently champs in all formats are no. 1 without a shadow of a doubt and no way should they be 1.67 points below India.

2. India
3. SA
4. England
5. NZ

Is probably how the rest of the top 5 should look like.

Pakistan healthily vying for that 5th place imo.

Anything below is just a level above garbage unfortunately.

While I agree that Australia have won Test and ODI world cups and the difference should be less then 1.67, India still would be considered top international side given how they consistently performed well against all the teams (except Pakistan as we dont play each other) at Home and Away which cannot be said the same about Australia or other teams.

India have a not winning Final syndrome but that does not stop them from being the best side in the world tbh!

I would say anything below New Zealand is just garbage fortunately.

Nice try but realistically speaking its not true. Pakistan are world t20 finalists, finished 5th in this 50 over world cup and are a steady, if not outright good test side.

You might have been offended by what I said, maybe due to some anti-Pakistan bigotry in your heart or you are a fan of one of the lower ranked teams but my point didn't have any maliciousness.

Sri Lanka can't even join ICC events currently and are suspended, WI couldnt even qualify for the world cup and the rest of the teams have barely any test pedigree to talk of (although decent results in the odd LO game).

It might hurt but its the truth...Vaseline helps kid.

Whet do you have against admitting India are better than everyone else?

Indian cricket fans, Indian cricket media, Indian cricket socials....
Unfortunately this! When you cannot respect others opinions and only see the good in things around you thats what happens. PC is a place unlike X(Twitter), FB or anyother place where trolls are kept out but hey what can we do when few make it? Talking about vaseline helps just proved that.

Curious to know the story here (forward to 7:05)

Even more baffling was the non-reaction from the batsman as well as the non-striker, almost as if they knew it was a legitimate call. Was that some sort of a gully cricket rule that says "You're out when you miss 3 consecutive deliveries"?
