General Racing Games

Well my last one managed to last 9 months before deciding to take an early retirement. Lesson learnt though, never use acer. Hopefully Dell will be better :upray

Played 'Race Driver: GRID' for the first time today. I have to say it's excellent at first glance. The graphics are awesome, and I hope Codemasters do the same with the F1 game. Will post a more detailed review of it when I've played it a bit more.
Yeah, its all great graphics and decent gameplay in SP mode, but the moment I turned on Multiplayer, you stumble into those noobs who don't know how to drive and just reverse in the beginning of the race, or just go about on crashing rounds in the race, which spoils the fun for all. :(

Just had a bash on rFactor for the first time in months, and I sucked bad. I used to actually make it around the track fairly fast, but now I can't make it around a single corner. I think I'll stick to playing 'Race Driver: GRID' for now.

I did that today in my car :p Forgot I left it in reverse and went flying away from the garage instead of going into it :p

:D

My acer laptop has been fine for 3 years. Can't say I've ever used Dell, heard very mixed reviews on them, though.

Has anyone heard that Codemasters are planning a new Colin McRae game?

Dirt 2 has been on the cards for a while.

Dirt was a shocking game. Horrible driving feel.

According to PC Gamer's hands on with Dirt 2, it's been given a shove in the direction of Richard Burns Rally and will feature real standing water on the muddy rallies. Hopefully, that'll include dynamic weather. If it has been made more like RBR, that can only be a good thing!

Right, got rFactor back up and going again, and it is a millions times better on a laptop which can actually handle its graphics. Also I think I have a bit more experience in a real car so I know how it should really handle :p

Anyway, bit confusing all these mods and stuff which are kicking around for it. Any chance someone can point me in the right direction for the latest BTCC season download and how I go about actually installing it. Cheers :)

This month's PC Gamer mentioned an F1 mod for the game as well. Haven't got a link.

Is RFactor available in stores, or is it d/l only? It sounds as though it's worth picking up (while we wait for Geoff Crammond to come back to us..some hope).
