General Racing Games

You can have a CD sent out to you (I think) but you get it from their website. You get 5 installs, if you download it.

Anyone answer my question?

Right, got rFactor back up and going again, and it is a millions times better on a laptop which can actually handle its graphics. Also I think I have a bit more experience in a real car so I know how it should really handle :p

Anyway, bit confusing all these mods and stuff which are kicking around for it. Any chance someone can point me in the right direction for the latest BTCC season download and how I go about actually installing it. Cheers :)

The BTCC mod (BTWC as it's called) is an 'illegal' mod as it uses car shapes from Race so its not on rfactorcentral, give me a moment to look for the download link.

EDIT: BTWC 2009 as you can see thats this seasons update, the full RaceX mod and Vectra update are apparently linked in the readme if not, shout, you also need to register to download, but it's worth it you get some really sweet stuff at NoGrip. If you pop on MSN I'll help you with the installation.

This month's PC Gamer mentioned an F1 mod for the game as well. Haven't got a link.

Is RFactor available in stores, or is it d/l only? It sounds as though it's worth picking up (while we wait for Geoff Crammond to come back to us..some hope).

You can either download it, order a DVD and I think some places even have it online. The license gives you 5 installs, if you use them up you can simply just e-mail them and ask for more.

For some reason the links in the readme, don't work. Any other links?

Hmm, I can't find a working link myself. I'll get onto the caveman and ask him, he sleeps and eats rFactor.

Alos here are a few laps from Essington. Any tips, this was a pretty good handful of laps by my standard:

Have any of you got SBK 09, the Superbikes game? I played the demo today (thanks, PC Gamer) and it looks like a lot of fun. Only thing about it is I can't find a way to get a first person view and that's how I like to play racers. First person must be especially spectacular when you're taking the corners.

Is that RFactor? Looks great! :)

DIRT was awful, terrible driving physics.

True, but there were mods released which improved it a lot and according to PC Gamer, DiRT 2's handling will be a lot more realistic. Maybe not quite RBR, but even if it heads in that direction, it'll do me.

Got Need for Speed Shift yesterday. Very enjoyable, quite a lot to do in the game. Handles quite nicely once you've got it set up well.

i've gone through quite a few pc racing games recently like F1 challenge, rfactor and GP4,
desperately trying to find a f109 mod to play while i wait for the new codemasters game which is coming out soon.

I had a decent mod for rfactor, but i couldnt get any tracks to load, and when i tried a race, it stuttered like crazy, so now i play GP4, which doesn't stutter and works a treat.

still, i can't wait for F1 2009 to release

Yeps, F1 2009 should be good, as long as they make it a sim and not an arcade racer.
