Western Australia 1 change Cameron Green out Aaron Hardie in for SF. also noted Neser bat at no7 Hardie at no8. @Master Bates

Batsmen collapsed a bit, but Solia and Horne rescued us magnificently. Bowlers were great, kept the run rate down throughout the innings.

Joe Weatherley is back for Gareth Berg. Let's hope to bounce back from the last match. :)

Both Weatherley and Markram reached
their fifties. And Markram
is striking brilliantly.

But Neser got rid of Weatherley who
has not done much with the bat this season.
A chance lost!

James Vince has already started hitting the fence.
He could deliver big here!

Markram! What have you done?

Both Markram and Vince got out
in the same over. And it is
Kyle Jamieson who gets the extra bounce.

Stoinis and Cachopa need to rebuild here.
Otherwise things could go downhill!

Only 44 runs in these 10 overs.
Michael Neser has finished with
brilliant figures here.
But Jhye has been hit to all parts of the ground
today.

Stoinis has got himself in here.
Now he needs to bat till the end otherwise Hampshire
could end with an underwhelming total.

What a finish! More than 100 runs
in the last 10 overs.

Stoinis and Dawson, two batting all-rounders
do the deed to give Hampshire a solid total.
Stoinis ran out of balls to get his ton
but Dawson registered a fifty and struk at S/R of 131.

Kelly, Jhye Richardson and Mitch Marsh.
All three play for Perth Scorchers and all
had a poor bowling display.
But Marsh can make up with the bat for it. Will he?

The best bowler of the tournament, Kyle Abbott
gets the young Josh Philippe out for nought.

But then Abbott has been struggling
with keeping the run-rate under ontrol
as he has already give more than 40 runs in 4 overs.

And Lungi has also not really
hit his mark. Shaun Marsh and Dean Elgar
are hitting boundaries with ease.

Dean-Elgar-vs-IND-AP_571_855.jpg

Shaun Marsh reached his fifty!
But Ngidi made sure that he won't ontribute
more than that.

Dean Elgar also got to the landmark.
Unfortunately, WAUS lost Sam Northeast as well.
now it is the younger Marsh with Elgar.

The other wicket was provided by Fidel Edwards.
He has been surprisingly the best bowler for
Hampshire so far.

They said he is a Test specialist.
Not here though. Dean Elgar brings
his best at the right time with a hundred to remember.

And don't leave the other southpaw behind!

D'Arcy Short not only reached his fifty
but he is moving towards the same landmark in great stride.

A day which Kyle Abbott and Lungi Ngidi
would want to forget quickly. Both were hit for
more than 70 runs and got only 2 scalps combined.

Only 72 runs are needed. But if
Hampshire send these two to the pavillion,
it could still be enough.

Let's just pretend that this win
looked tough from the outside as only 5 more deliveries were remaining.
But those who are reading know that Hampshire
were recovered from the massacre by Elgar and...

D'Arcy Short (118*), who has been shunted
down the order by both the Australia management
and @Life Warrior and @X Factor
has now put Josh Philippe's opening spot
in danger.

And Neser had a bit of fun in the end for himself.

They say nothing is above the law. And they were right!
The law of averages get hold of Abbott and Ngidi
as they deliver their worst performance in an important match.

Centuries from two highly
contrasting left-handed batsmen bring Western Australia
a ticket to the Final!

Now they can only hope that they get
the weaker of the two teams (Hampshire and Auckland).

Winner: Western Australia

HAMPSHIRE 346/4 50.0 overs

Man of the match: D'Arcy Short

@Life Warrior , @X Factor vs @Asham

wow, after that first innings score, i didn't think WA could win, but Elgar and Short had other ideas....

Brilliant performance by WA, especially Short and Elgar, great victory for us. I thought its over when we were 147-4

Knockouts
Semi-Final 2:
:eng: Hampshire
vs :nzf: Auckland
Venue: The Rose Bowl, Hampshire

Bio: OK! So these two teams have played against each other twice and have a even record which will break (unless a tie :facepalm) with this game. Hampshire have two of the best bowlers of the tournament and the last match was not good for them. So don't be surprise for some Abbott and Ngidi bashing against Auckland. But underestimating Auckland is not good. Their batsmen have been more consistent than Hampshire's and their bowling lineup of medium pacers and Lockie Ferguson can deliver the goods. Hampshire has an in-form Stoinis so tide is towards the English side but Martin Guptill and Heinrich Klaasen combo could outdo the Vince and Markram!

@Asham vs @CerealKiller

Rules:

  • You need to have at least 1 wicket-keeper (:wkb:/:wk:) in your XI.
  • You can have a maximum of 3 overseas (:os:) players in your XI.
  • Name the pitch type if you are the home team.
Pitch Types:
  • (Green) - Great for swing bowlers but batting becomes better after initial overs.
  • (Dead) - Paradise for batsmen but quick bowlers can be useful here.
  • :left::right: (Dusty) - Spin friendly pitch. Non subcontinental batsmen will find them hard.
Statistics:
Updated till Group-Stages at post #7.

We're going with the same line-up and Pitch Green @CerealKiller. I didn't believe this lineup of bowlers couldn't defend 340+. Let's hope for the best

I didn't believe this lineup of bowlers couldn't defend 340+
TBH a bad performance by Abbott and Ngidi had to come sooner or later. Now it is only luck that it came in the semi final!
