Story Go Tigers Go - A Bangladesh Story! | ICC Cricket World Cup 2011

Well, I seem to have some time for this now. Though, I'm not going for WT20. I'm leaving it as it is and will start with Bangladesh in England (Test Series). Ashes Cricket 09 will be used. Mainly because I don't have C07 anymore as old PC is dead. Also, I'm getting used to AC09 and hopefully it will do good.

I will try to maintain the quality of updates but, I might exclude the pre-match and post match talks and might just go for the action straightaway. Cheers!

Really a nice news that. Cannot Wait For The Update.

Nice to know that this story is back. Best of luck User. :)

England v Bangladesh, 1st Test, Lord's

One way traffic - again?

Or will this man turn it around?

England are the favorites with no complex astrology behind it against the Bangladeshis ahead of the test series scheduled to start on Thursday at Lord's.

With Strauss returning and Morgan set to make his test debut, Bangladesh already have much to think about. The Tigers though look relaxed and experienced Mortaza captaining the side might help their cause. Jamie Siddons has said that the boys are working hard in whatever limited time they have got. He as others also feels Tamim Iqbal holds the key for the Bangladeshis to triumph over the mighty Englishmen.

England's tour of Bangladesh earlier in the year may still be in the minds of the Bangladeshi players as they were defeated convincingly. Skipper Mortaza though says they are up for the challenge and are looking forward to the first test match.

Bangladesh could boost their confidence by putting in a spirited performance but for England this test series might well be just another 'walk in the park' sort.

Key Players

Bangladesh : Tamim Iqbal - Easily the best batsman for the Tigers. Needs to deliver for the Bangladesh success.

England : Kevin Pietersen - Bats at the vital no.3 spot. Would like to make it count against Bangladesh.

Last Five Results

2010 : 2nd Test - England beat Bangladesh by nine wickets at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka
2010 : 1st Test - England beat Bangladesh by 181 runs at MA Aziz Stadium, Chittagong
2005 : 2nd Test - England beat Bangladesh by an innings and 27 runs at Chester-le-Street, Durham
2005 : 1st Test - England best Bangladesh by an innings and 261 runs at Lord's, London
2003 : 2nd Test - England beat Bangladesh by 329 runs at MA Aziz Stadium, Chittagong

Prediction

England might have a big and thick edge but still Go Tigers Go.

Probable Teams

England : Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook, Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell, Jonathan Trott, Eoin Morgan, Matt Prior, Tim Bresnan, Graeme Swann, James Anderson, Steven Finn.

Bangladesh : Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Junaid Siddique, Mohammad Ashraful, Mohammad Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mashrafe Mortaza, Abdur Razzak, Shahadat Hossain, Rubel Hossain.

This should be a interesting series. Bangladesh have some really talented players in their side. The only thing which Bangladesh are looking for is consistency. If the batsman fire then we might see some unexpected results in this series because Bangladesh bowling is quite good. Would be interesting to see how Iqbal and Shakib play in this series.

Bangladesh v England
1st npower test
Lord's

Welcome to Day 1 of the first test of this npower test series between England and Bangladesh. A beautiful day for Cricket here at Lord's and a nice crowd in as well. Conditions are just perfect and pitch seems like a good one for batting. Captain who wins the toss should have no hesitation in batting first.

As expected, Mortaza elects to bat first after winning the toss. It would be interesting to see how Tamim Iqbal goes against English pacemen here as there will be some sort of moisture in the pitch early on. Bangladeshi players along with whole of Bangladesh would be hoping that Tamim fires. Imrul Kayes also might have to cop with the swing if any.

The Bangla openers make their way out to the center then as we get ready for the first day's play. Here are the team sheets for both the teams. Eoin Morgan is all set to make his test debut. England look strong against a not so solid Bangladesh team. But, we all know it will be a mistake to write them off as yet. Let us enjoy the action then -

Tamim & Kayes were all set to start the Bangladeshi innings. The opening duo though didn't experience any joy as English bowlers kept it mighty tight supported brilliantly by some impressive fielding. Kayes seemed to block everything while Tamim looked like he was in a cage. The pressure got to him as he tried to play his release shot and was foxed by the clever Anderson. Cook took an amazing catch to dismiss the danger man for just 7 as the hosts tasted their first success.

The Hawkeye below shows Tamim Iqbal's wicket. Anderson was clever enough to bowl one which goes straight after bowling two consecutive incoming deliveries to Iqbal. He couldn't pick it up as the ball held its line. Had the ball swung, result may have been different..

Imrul Kayes slowly though steadily kept his survival mission on as Siddique couldn't do much but get caught in the slip area. Shahzad would consider him lucky as the delivery deserved to be spanked rather than get a kiss by the bat of Siddique. Bangladesh at this stage were 33 for 2 as Ashraful walked in the middle.

After that, both the batsmen came together to put up a 47* run partnership with Ashraful being an aggressor and Kayes being his own self. Looking in good touch, Ashraful has played some glorious shots in his 23 not out thus far. At the stroke of Lunch, Bangladesh are 80 for 2.

2 major blows for Bangladesh with loosing Iqbal and Siddique but good recovery from Kayes and Ashraful. Ashraful is a class act when he is in form and if he manages to play a big innings then we might see Bangladesh making a good total in their 1st innings. Kayes is a fine player as well and now as he has got off to a good start he should go on and play a big innings.

Nice update there User.

Really Nice Write Up There, Bangladesh have lost two wickets but still in hunt for a good score.250-300 will be a good score

Loving the presentation. Great writeup + Great animation (that swing one) + great alignment of all the previews make this a fantastic update!
