GOLD'S TEST MATCH AI PATCH VERSION 1.0

I have been working on a Test Match Patch and I have finally come up with a PERFECT combination. Here are the features:

1.-CPU play less aggressivley.Even a draw is now possible
2.-Batting is tough,realistic,and most importantly,FUN
3.-CPU play sensibly and value their wicket. It is very tough to get them out.
4.-Outstanding Ball physics. The ball now travels based on the power of the shot, not on the infield and outfield settings.
5.-Good Stroke Selection by the CPU
6.-Strokes have been edited for the better
7.-The bowling is fun as the batsmen are unpredictable. They will now punish ALL the bad balls and will defend the good balls

Well, those are the main features of this patch.

Note-This is a test match ONLY patch. It will not work well in One Dayers.

PLease download it and give me feedback so I can improve it.

Welcome. And please do post a review of it once you're done.

And thanks Nithish,btw.:)

Playing at Melbourne, good hard pitch for batting. Aus vs Pak, i win toss and choose to bat.

DAY1 lunch AUS - 2/125

Good stats so far!

Some thoughts - Back foot straight shots, whether it be back foot straight, backfoot on or backfoot off drives, don't seem right,, I can barely get them off the pitch, the ball just drops down and dribbles a bit. So i'm thinking a bit more power would be good for those shots.

Front foot drives, well done with them, more often then not they'll go straight, but every now and then you can time it well and crack it through the covers.

Leg glances, seem to be fine,, actually i got a few edges popping up using the front foot legglance.

The only thing i'd like would be to fix those backfoot shots.

Well i ended up running half my batsmen out trying to play quick singles ect.

When playing spin, front foot leg glances are comming off really wiered, probably about 80% of them are heading straight through the covers instead of on the leg side.

Also, is there anyway you can make it so its harder to hit the ball? like it's really easy to keep your wicket it seems, like in koalas i'll get bowled ect sometimes when i get a good delivery, but it just seems like i can just keep playing forever.

well now i've got Hayden and gillespi at the crease.

Langer, Ponting, lehman, clarke and gillchrist were all run out by my brilliant running between the wickets :D

About the Back foot drives:Yeah I will tweak it to make it more powerful. The tech that I have used is to make the balls travel based on the power of the shot(not on the infield and outfield settings). The problem with Ravi's(or all patches)is that the balls travel based on the infield and outfield settings. This means that the ball physics are unrealistic and will sometimes come to a stop even while travelling quickly. In my patch you will notice that the ball travels more slowly and realistically.

Thanks Gold,, any idea about making it harder to hit the ball (ie more difficult to keep your wickets) i'm pretty sure its the batsize window or something like that..

Yeah just reduce the bat window ideal size by a little. Also, increase the stroke and batting difficulty(in the Test Match Hard screen in config editor)

Also-Another thing about the patch is the timing of the shots.I edited the strokes in such a way that the ball won't go anywhere if you time it late, but it will come sweetly of the bat if you time it well.

Ok how would i do the backfoot shots, or should i just wait for you to do them?

Well it is very easy.In the config editor, browse down, until you find Back Foot Straight Drive,Back Foot Cover Drive, and Back Foot On Drive.Select those. Then just edit the power settings in the different key frames(0,1,2,3,4).Here is what the keyframes mean:

Key Frame 0-Very Late Timing(so obviously very little power)
Key Frame 1-Late Timing (^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^)
Key Frame 2-Perfect Timing(so you should give it high power)
Key Frame 3-Early Timing
Key Frame 4-Very Early Timing

That is what the key frames mean.Happy editing.:)
