Isn't RBR just Jaguar bought over? Or did they actually change the engine?

Yup, Red Bull Racing did buy Jaguar. They stuck with the same engine suppliers that Jaguar had (Cosworth). They have developed new engines for 2005.

Karthikeyan's goal this year will be (a) to beat his teammate Monteiro, (b) earn a few top 10 finishes and (c) try earning at least a point (top 8 finish, I believe). Let's see... Ferrari has made a devastating start to the season but it is good as the competition may actually be open and competitive.

In the 2 races so far, Karthikeyan has certainly surpassed everyones expectations. He has also beaten his team mate convincingly. Even though I do not expect Team Jordan to be any competitive overall (this year), if there is rain or a lot of attrition in a race, then he has a chance to finish in the Top 8 or 10.

For the people who are not aware - I am saying rain because Jordan is using Bridgestone tires which are much more competitive than Michelin (that 7 out of the 10 teams use) in the wet.

I thought that Red Bull Racing, even though it bought Jaguar, is using Toyota engines.... Im pretty sure thats what ame up when I was watching the Aus GP.

But Karthikeyan is doing extremely well - Jordan havent been there for quite a while now.

Mark Webber will win the Championship in a Williams!! :hpraise ;) :D :cheers

Seriously now, Fisichella in Renault will win Championship, Trulli second, Michael Schumacher third. Ferrari have paid, but he will come back sooner or later.

I started watching F1 in 1999

It was quite possibly the best season for some time

ironically, Shumacher missed half the season when he broke his leg.

I have only missed one GP since then, but I feel that it is not as enjoyable with the new rules as drivers are more focussed on finishing than driving fast.

I may find myself missing more and more gps over the next few years.

But its good to see there will be 2 new teams nexts season- 24 cars on the grid if minardi and jordan can survive.

its kind of sad to see these teams a good 2 seconds slower than everyone else

Jordan is the team using Toyota engines other than Toyota themselves. They have also been sold. They were bought by a Russian Billionaire, Alex Shnaider and from next year the team is going to be renamed as Midland Jordan and their chassis is going to be built by a company called Dallara. This sale is the primary reason why Narain got his break into Formula 1.

Yeah, but he is in a Jordan, a team who found it difficult to finish races last year.

Bharat what happened to the Karthikeyan sig? I thought India was really supporting him in Formula 1.Is he the first Indian competing in motorsport outside India?

He is the first Indian in Formula 1. Though he may be the first Indian in motorsport anyhow. Apart from that I think we have Formula 3 and Karting racers, not sure, although its difficult to classify the latter as motorsport. There was some guy recently who made it to some international league, forgot his name.

I knew he was the first in F1, just wondering if he was the first to compete at international level regularly. How can you not classify Karting as motorsport, it is the training ground for future F1 stars. All of the drivers on the grid have had previous karting sucess earlier in their careers.

Bahrain Grand Prix on this sunday.
Mclaren Mercedes driver Juan Pablo Montoya is out of the race and would be next seen at the Imola Grand Prix on April 24.
Montoya suffered a hairline crack while playing tennis with his trainer. He will be replaced by reserve Spanish driver.
Maenwhile Ferrari would be looking for a comeback. with the all new 2005 car.

He may have been the first at international level, too, I'm not sure. But I do know that he is not the only one in the international circuit, at least now.

RaceDay of SanMarino grand prix is 3 days away. I wish Ferrari & Schumacher bounce back this time around. :upray :upray
