Dude all u need is to wait for another 2 weeks or so..... AMD ( once ATi n now DAAMiT as they have been merged ) are releasin their range of DX 10 GPUs............

If u can afford best option is AMD`s R600 (nearly 450$ approx) .... which will b d finest card till date... as d benchmarks show that it can kick Nvidia`s 8800 rite in d balls

secondly if u have slightly low budget u can go for AMD`s R 630....... which is better than both nvidia`s 8600 n 8500..... n CHEAPER than both of them


All u need to do is to wait a little n u`ll c how cool is AMD !

Punk Sk8r! go on the crucial website and run the graphics card scanner, its really good, it will find out which type of PCI-E slot u have and gives u a list of graphics cards that will work on it. you will also be able to buy your graphics cards from the list. the website is http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/listmfgr.asp?cat=Video+Card

Duh! well R series.... is ATi`s or AMD or DAAMiT or what eva u call them! basicly as i might have mentioned earlier both ATi and Amd has merged...... n their reply to Nvidia`s DX 10 technology is commin this winter.... in june\july .... to further clearify r 610 is ATi`s...


n i guess ATi will b ur pick this time... Cheaper better and promising as well as reliable! this time AMD.ATi have spent alot on their projects....earlier they have some chip melting issues when the cards were over clocked .... but in extreme conditions....... as they were lagging behind... they worked hard... n produced these monsters... they are completed n done but to get most out of their markets AMD ( ATi) are making people wait!

including me.

basically, R600 sets ATi for future. the problem with R600 is that it has got excellent technologies that are the way to go, but there first iteration, namly 2900XT is hardly bang on. it would improve, no doubt. and later iterations would be very powerful indeed. however, 2900XT is not right investment of money.

one thing i have been noticing is that almost all X2900XT reviews are pre release with beta drivers. damm. just spoiling the card's image.
