Not that I'd usually comment on the graphics made on this site, I thought I may as well. They follow in order of best to worst ranked.
Wallpapers:
Rabeta - Best of the lot, nice and subtle colours which make a wallpaper less distracting on the desktop, the only fault I would find is the secondary text under the big word Kumble, it is a bit difficult to read, could have done with a lighter colour there. 8.3/10
usy - The effort put in shows. However there are a few sticking points that put it second, the circle behind the Cricket Australia logo doesn't really fit in with the rest, I would have placed just the shield directly onto the background. The small images in the right hand corner don't really fit in with the rest of the design, I'd remove them altogether, though utilising the dots on the background and having the images in them might be another way. And the black bars are a bit annoying, make a widescreen wallpaper if you want that aspect, I'd crop that wallpaper if I were to use it (which I wouldn't because it is too bright for my tastes, but I'm not going to detract from your score because of that). 7.8/10
shantanu_rooney - A bit of a drop off here, the background doesn't fit in with the player image, a green coloured one would be better. The use of text isn't all that good, the Graeme looks fine, but the rest looks a bit bad. I don't like the use of a serif font there. The XXX Smith Smith Smith bit is unnecessary, and detracts from the overall look. 6.5/10
ivanvdm15 - Just barely places above KBC, there is no real depth to this wallpaper, the image of the player is fine, but I can't tell who he is because I can't read any of the text. Dark text on dark backgrounds doesn't work. The background looks like you have just splashed around a few brushes and said 'there'. 4.5/10
KBChandraw - I don't think Dhoni would appreciate the apparent lack of limbs that he has in the wallpaper, the effects on him don't work. The upside down Dhoni's are worse. If you want to put more than one image of a player, use different images. Action images are better imo. The background isn't very nice, if you had one of those things that is in between the four heads in the image it would be better, have one in the middle, and have a bigger and more transparent one behind it rather than the repeat you have there. It looks a bit thrown together. 3.9/10
Avatars:
Rabeta - The use of effects enhances the image, the colours are good. Perhaps could do with a border, but otherwise brilliant. 9/10
KBChandraw - Good use of a sepia tone, the background fits in well and there isn't an overuse of effects. 8.2/10
shantanu_rooney - Simple, yet effective. Though he is a little too bright, there is some overuse of the sun-like-effect and he is a little bit too purple. 6.7/10
usy - Overuse of effects here has ruined it, if you used the same image of Ponting that you used on the wallpaper it would be much better. The animated one makes it worse, as the animation doesn't fit with the design of the thing it is animating over. A random green circle isn't very good. 5.8/10
ivanvdm15 - Last by default, the border is too heavy and the background effects detract from the main image. 5.2/10
Sigs:
shantanu_rooney - Good use of colour, the background really compliments the image of the player. The effects used on the player are good as well. One complaint would be text, a lighter blue for the Dhoni and white for the Mahendra Singh would have been better in my view. 8.7/10
rabeta - Great background and image of Smith, though the text lets you down, bad placement (his name should have been a bit bigger and use made of the huge amount of space rather than tucking the text under his arm) and hard to see colour. But good overall so it still rates highly, 8.4/10.
KBChandraw - I like the background and the colour use, though it is let down by the use of two Dohnis, just one would have made it so much better. The image itself isn't the best one of Dhoni I've seen, his face is very odd. The text is good, though could have been off the bottom of the image a bit. 7.6/10
usy - It is good, but the background seems a bit busy. The MS. Dhoni text needed to be a few more pixels to the right to make it centred under the ODI Captain text, which would have made it look a bit more polished. The rest is very good. 7.0/10
ivanvdm15 - Background is decent, though gets a bit too bright around the picture. The text is better on this, but the Jayawardena text could have been a bit brighter on the left (it fades off into readable text from the third a onwards). The border is too heavy, 1px is normally fine for sigs. 5.9/10
So overall my vote has to go to rabeta. I hope some of the above is useful to the people making the graphics.
Edit: I got a new monitor today which is substantially brighter than my old one and I've noticed that some of my comments about text being difficult to read is because of how low I had the brightness set on my old one. Though it is always good to keep high contrast in text colour in comparison to the background. Some are easier to read but still a bit difficult.
