Greatest Football XI of All-Time

I wouldn't class Torres as Spain's current best striker, let alone all time.

Good effort with those teams. I would attempt it but I don't have enough knowledge of football pre the Maradona era.

I wouldn't class Maradona as Argentina's best striker at the moment either, but this Best XI is based on when they were at their best and not just now. Does seem a bit of an odd selection, though.

Fair point, but when has Torres been Spain's best striker? He's never really been brilliant at international level, whereas Villa has been consistently excellent throughout his international career to date.

Wheres Miroslav Klose In Germany Squad?

Zambrotta in Italy All tie XI ?????
replace him with Nesta and Bring Totti in place of Pirlo :)

Replace a full back for a centre back and a deep-lying playmaker for an attacker? :facepalm

Yea no doubt Torres hasn't translated club form into international performances. But i was willing to flex a bit with him, because i wanted a tall/short strike force up front.

Of course if someone wanted to pick Villa, that wont be a issue either.

Although he has a excellent world cup record. He was never won of the best strikers of his time overall & Germany over the years have definately produced more outstanding striker than him.

Accept my fault in the formations but certainly not Zambrotta in tha all time XI......

:laugh what?. Please explain to me why Zambrotta isn't qualified to be in the Italian all-time squad (not XI). If you can do that, please give me a better versatile back-up full-back option

I'm a massive fan of Klose and I think he deserves to be up there. He's one of the most under-rated players in world football. He may not be fastest to get to a certain place but he knows when to get there before everyone else. He's renowned for his heading ability but also has great technique with either foot. He has that amazing ability to take up both centre backs at once. He's also a world cup specialist and his international record is phenomenal.

Hagi, seriously? Ahead of Maradona, Zidane, Baggio, Platini etc.

Yup. I grew up watching him play and during the late 80s and 90s he was one of the best at his position. He had excellent control and a really good long range shot. I got no problems including him in there.

Hagi was a great player and scored some absolutely awesome goals, especially at USA 94. But Maradona and Zidane are arguably the two greatest players of all time. Hagi was a great player, an under-rated player but not better than Maradona and Zidane. And don't forget Platini or Baggio who led their respective countries to international finals. But that's just my opinion.

"Wayne Rooney Looks Dull Outforked."
Anybody Agreeing?

Hagi was the best at that position that I watched. I liked Zidane when he was in Juventus but after he left to Real I wasn't that much of a fan, he might have had some of his best years at Real but he was really good in Juventus. Hagi took a small team and put them on the map during the 90s while Zizu, Maradona, Bagio and Platini all played for big teams. Im not saying that he is better then any of the guys mentioned but I think that he was a really good player at that position.

Fair enough. But Maradona took the relatively small club Napoli and took them to European success. :p
