Group A (CSK, Warriors, Bushrangers, Wayamba, Stags)

:laugh

Which is why they (IPL teams) should not be in the Champions League. The rest of the teams are proper domestic set ups who play all 3 formats.

Do the Ranjii teams also take part in limited overs? Would be nicer to see them develop 2020 teams as they are a proper domestic cricket set up. Grooming players for the next level, not just making a quick buck off them

The Champions league came up after the IPL's success. They wanted the IPL teams to take part in it and earn more revenue/recognition for the teams and for the IPL.

Exactly. It would be great if there were Ranji teams instead of IPL teams but there would never be enough money in it for businessmen to be interested. Nowhere near as many people would be interested in watching it on tv or coming to the stadium, as unfortunate as it may be. The crowds have been poor even with the IPL teams involved though (in both editions).

They wanted to show off their mercanries and expected them to dominate the whole tournament.

Despite the CSK's victory, it would have been great if those money goes to Warriors. They need it the most than our already rich sportsmen.

Instead of 3 IPL teams in Champions League there could be 2 IPL team(the two finalists) and 1 Ranji champions.

Uh no, there should be 2 Indian teams only. Its really not that hard a concept to understand, treating everyone equally that is.

Mercenary has nothing to do with rejigging squads (which I am against anyway) but the fact that you guys get so many foreigners to represent the England side isn't much different from the varying nationalities in IPL teams... if that is what you are implying.

oops.:facepalm

I meant 3 seasons. FIXED.

Great win for CSK but I feel for Warriors, great as a unit together and like Suren Bhai said, the money should go to them.
