I've just bought the game and downloaded a number of updates but I am unsure how to install them. The updates I have are:
Sams.exe
Roster Update
Kits
Bats
Line-Up
Editor
Graphic Importer

Any help with this would be great. :)

Most if not all of the answers you want can be found in the FAQ.

Any more questions please ask them here before a moderator closes it.

Sorry for posting the questions but to be honest the FAQ thread isn't that great for telling you how to install updates.

For example, how do I install a roster pack?

If you follow the links in the FAQ it will take you to the download link where, for roster.pak, you will learn that to install you need to 'Place in X:/documents and settings/EA Sports/Cricket 2004/user-yourname'
All the patches linked from the thread have installation instructions in their download centre description or come with a readme.

P.S. Whereabouts in Scotland are you?

So I have to create a folder user-myname because there is not one in my directory. I live in the South of Scotland, just over the border.

user-myname is an example. The folder isn't found in your root directory (programs files/EA sports/Cricket2004) but instead in documents and settings/EA Sports/Cricket 2004

I might be really stupid but I can't find that path at all.

If you are running WinXP it'll be something like C:/documents and settings/EA Sports/Cricket 2004 For Win9x it might be C:/my documents/EA Sports/Cricket 2004

Why dont you guys bother helping him that show him the way to FAQ? It doesnt have all the frequently asked questions. Now to answer you Jorg

Sams.exe - Extract Sams.exe to c:/Program Files/EA Sports/Cricket 2004.
If it is runout2004.exe etc. and you want to access it through
the desktop, right click on the Cricket 2004 icon, fin target and
then replace cricket2004.hta with the exe filename.

Roster Update - Extract the roster.pak to 'My Documents/EA
Sports/cricket2004/user-name

Kits - You need Graphics Importer (GI). If the zip file is GI (contains
install.data, file.data and replaced files.txt) open GI, press Import as
Zip and locate the zip file and click open. If non-GI, find the team that
you are installing the kit for, replace each of the Front, Back and
trouser's 512, 256, 128, 64, 32, 16, 8.

Bats - Extract the bat from the zip file to c:/Program Files/EA Sports/Cricket
2004/Bats. If the file name is not BatXX.tga (xx are numbers from 01
to 34) rename it to the desired number to replace the bat of that no.

Line-up Editor and GI - extract the zip files to any folder and access that
Program

That ought to help you

It does have all of this and if doesn't we'll add it in. I've got no objection to helping one person but the idea of the FAQ is that it should be clear for everyone so we want people to look at it and then tell us what they don't understand so we can change it rather than writing out a full answer each time which only helps one person.

I really appreciate all the help, many thanks.

However, while you are all here. Are these the main updates you would reccomend? Having just bought the game I am after a playable up-to-date game to keep me going until BLC or Cricket 2005.
