How are you doing in your career?

This game baffles me at times. Third Test at home to Zimbabwe after we hammered them in the first two. We (England) win the toss and our captain again decides to bowl first (this happens far too often for my liking). Anyway, about 120 overs later, Zimbabwe are at about 550-3. Good job, team. A short while later they then declare as they approach 600, and this being DBC we predictably collapse to five wickets down inside the first session. It's a great game, and a lot of fun, but there are so many times when it feels like the game just seems to decide how a match is going to go.

Been wanting to see a batsman dismissed leaving the ball for awhile now. This wasn't exactly what I was thinking of...

What are the main contributing factors for getting selected at a national level? I'm in my 2nd year, first full year, of domestic cricket and travelling very well with the bat (top order batsman, avg over 100). Just wondering if I should start using points towards stats I don't actually care to improve as I rarely play them (cut/special/sweep.. defence seems to be fine without increasing the stat) or continue very slowly upping by batting rating (currently 54 with the other 6 stats in the 60-70 range) buying the now expensive stats I use (drive/footwork/control/glance).

Would increasing my fielding stats help? hardly touched on them as they seemed to not do much in regards to my rating (51 overall).

I assume I'd earn more skill points by playing at a higher level so the quicker I can get there the better.

Cheers guys.

First of all, massive massive massive thanks to DBC and BigAnt for quenching my thirst for a proper cricket game. I'm in love!!

Obviously there are some issues, but I'm just massively chuffed. A huge shout out again to BigAnt! Can't thank them enough.

Now, I suck at gaming and these are my issues. (Not with the game, but with my ability)

Playing on Easiest- Yes, it's the second day, but I don't see myself going up in a hurry. My issues?

1) I can't for the life of me make a ton. I keep getting 50's and getting out. The most common mode of dismissal for me is nicking off to the keeper or slip to a spinner.

2) I don't get the aggressive shot button at all. I seem to get boundaries timing them with just the normal R1 or without using R1 even, but as soon as I use L2 to hit down the ground I'm caught at short mid off. Bowlers also take abnormal catches.

Can someone help me with slogging? I can time them alright and score run a ball, but can't seem to smash them from ball 1.

Well in career mode slogging is initally very tough as the career player skills are not high enough. For casual or any other type of matches go to gameplay modifiers and keep the shot force to more than 80,with that you can slog almost every ball. I played plenty of five5 matches on easy difficulty and was able to hit 130 odd in 5 overs and sixes distance were more than 130m or even 140m in some cases.

Just a note on easy level -- don't get too used to it -- it uses shot substitution, in other words if you dont do the right shot, timing, on easy level the game will help you out quite a bit.....when you level up (go to medium/hard etc), however this goes away making life really hard! :)

another note: remember there is a stamina mechanic, the longer u bat the less your stamina gets, making shots harder... to try and get stamina back up again, you must leave balls or block....however in club T20 cricket this can be hard because you running out of balls to get the score... quite a challenge ;)

Finally got my double hundred in career still going on chasing a huge target with 32 overs left in final day and 130 to win..Hopefully will be finishing it ..5 more wickets remaining...

After a long time, I played yesterday and loved bowling with custom slider settings.

Only frustration being the delay that batsman take to start the run & I end up misjudging the close fielders often due to this. Hope it gets addressed in upcoming patch.

Loved this, finally was able to get the DRS correct for my career bowler reversing umpire's decision. Bowling variation definitely works!

That match turned out to be epic..Was able to win it for the team by scoring a triple and an unbelievable chase with only 3 overs left in the test match...

Had a 250+ partnership which helped a great deal with the chase..

[DOUBLEPOST=1490601236][/DOUBLEPOST]Next match was for India in a T20 against Pakistan and this definitely will be rated as my best because of the great flow I had in this innings...

I played in the Bangladesh league, played every game and then, I was removed from the team once finals started (top team) to go back and join my Australian T20 team (Melb Stars) 4 games into the series.

I played the games, played the semi final (We won, thanks to ME), suddenly, season over, I wasn't picked for the final.. What in the actual fearsome tweak is going on? I love this game, as far as game play goes, but this is really starting to really piss me off to the point I don't want to play it anymore. I did not buy this game so I could miss out on playing the most important games of my career. I know Ross and co see planet cricket as the sewer of player feedback these days but come on, I demand an answer for this bullshit!

As I was chosen captain for the Paki league, just simming through the games as 10th on the list (Batsman) as I'm sick of playing T20 for no reason... hoping the 'salary' i get paid boosts me to real cricket.

Please bring back the old school method of a sheffield shield game followed by a 1 dayer, rather than separate timetables (thats what the other options are for, tour etc...) .. the monotony of build an innings, build an innings over and over gets boring and so does smash n smash n smash over n over...

Got my first test ton! Played pretty "cheap", got a 120odd off 50odd balls. AI had no mid-on so plenty of runs through that area. Only medium difficulty.
