How do you prepare for your exams?

Actually, at A Level, your marks are scaled up before being graded. That is, if out of a 75 mark exam, 70 was the highest, than the 70 would be scaled up to 75 (100%), and all the other grades are scaled up accordingly. Due to this, a C is often for between 50-60%.

I can see why you would be happy with a B, or how it is possible to get a C, but to be happy with 50% (or 30% in the case of GCSE)?? And this is the British GCSE curriculum we are talking about, not even CBSE or IB level. Those two are insane, I'd be happy with a C in them. But this is the easiest curriculum in the world - even the American syllabus is tougher (atleast in Sciences). And then the exams are one of the easiest in the world, maybe barring the SATs. And despite this all you need to do is pass to get a C...how can you be delighted with that? I just don't get it, sorry.

Ask me what is CBSE in +2 in Physics and Chemistry. :p

Oh wait, what about the IIT-JEE syllabus then...

Doing F right now :(

yea GCSEs were piss, could've done 'em in yr 6

C's aren't bad at A-Level although i'm going for 3 B's

I did G ;)

Because I don't do any :p But being serious, I'd probably go for B, computer tech = late nights.

The grading levels seem alot easier over in England. An A is 90%+ here, and anything less (at least for me) is unacceptable.

Yeah well that's where the difference is. An A for me would be exceptional.

If you can get onto a uni course with Cs why bother going for/getting As?

(some courses, albeit in the former polytechnics, take DD)

Labour's policy of "let's all go to uni" is to blame.

Yeah what ste said. I only need CCD to get into Leeds for my course so I see no reason to go all out for A's in my subjects when i'm comfortably working at B standard.

Not everyone has the drive to go for A's. Especially when Xbox Live and alcohol exist in the world.

It's one thing to not want to do it. I fully understand that. I'm going for great grades so I can get a scholarship to ease the financial burden, no other reason.

But to feel happy about a C...that I don't get.

And my level of intelligence bars me from getting much better than a C.
