It's the wetest cricket ground in the UK, the pitch is as flat as a road, the outfield's slow, the atmosphere is crap, there's zero chance of reverse swing, there is no history of note at the ground, the host county have no history of note and it's in Wales. Should have been at Lords with the Cardiff test being replaced by Old Trafford.

Wales is half of the team. The England and Wales Cricket Board. One of the best players in the 2005 Ashes series was Welsh. Wales have a right to host Test cricket. The ground will get into it eventually, it's a nice facility. And the atmosphere isn't bad at all.

They have the right to hold a Test match, but not their first one in the most important series of them all. The Ashes is the most prestigious series we have, and should be played in the best grounds in England. You won't see us going across to Australia for our next tour over there and them replacing the MCG with some unknown new ground. Shouldn't have held an Ashes Test for mine.

I agree with you on that.

Test cricket is great the way it is. ICC should not put commercialism in front of true tradition and flavor of our most beloved game. Those who want to change the format must have missed fifth day of first Ashes Test. Please let test cricket be as it is.

Most test cricket these day's doesn't end like that though. We have far to many one-sided games, or very drawn out games where we get 3 1/2 innings.

Yeah, if groundsmen gave pitches where scoring a ton was a top effort and getting 400 was fantastic games would be so much better.

Yesterday's Ashes match is a good example of why Test cricket is still interesting.

These test matches that have been played following the T20 WC are a perfect example of why test cricket does not really need to be changed. 4 perfect games for test match cricket.

Haha, C&P time again.

Pitches, pitches, pitches.

And to counter the weather problem, 6th day to make up for missed overs, as PCB suggested in 2005.

All that's needed IMO.
