The reason ENG won the T20 WC was b/c they had a specialist T20 team, with only 4 players playing in both their T20 WC winning side and the 1st test team playing BNG ATM.
So here's my NZ team for the WC in two years time:
1. Brendon McCullum (wk)
2. Tim Southee (5)
3. Martin Guptill
4. Ross Taylor (c)
5. Jesse Ryder (6/7/8)
6. Colin de Grandhomme (6/7/8)
7. Kieran Noema-Barnett (6/7/8)
8. Nathan McCullum (2)
9. Daniel Vettori (4)
10. Neil Wagner (1)
11. Seth Rance (3)
Batting Bench:
Anaru Kitchen
Corey Anderson
Dean Brownlie
Bowling Bench:
Ian Butler
Michael Bates
Roneel Hira
Yes Tim Southee to open, he may get a duck one day, but on another he could blast 20 from the first over inside the powerplay.
Jesse Ryder will drop down to five, so he can have a license to swing when he comes to the wicket. I was fed up at this WC cup of Baz getting out, then seeing Ryder drop back into his shell and work it around.
Next year Kane Williamson is going to retire from T20's, as he doesn't want to fearsome tweak up his test and ODI career.
I'm not going to go with Tuffey or Mills, but rather Wagner and Rance as our other two pace bowlers.
Oram and Styris are both going to be gone by then, so two massive hitting all-rounders in de Grandhomme and Noema-Barnett will be brought in as T20 specialists.
Ross Taylor will be the captain by then, and McCullum will also be still keeping.
