I am going to Sydney, Queensland (Ayley beach in particular) and Hobart in Tasmania! Anyone live in any of those places? Any recommendations on what to do, where to eat etc (btw we're vegetarians )

Yes, stay in the Northern and Eastern suburbs; go to the west (where I happen to reside..), and resent the experience
On a more serious note, I guess the city has it's merits, with the obvious tourist attractions on offer. (Climb the harbour bridge, I dare you!)
There're also some awesome cricket ovals going 'round; for example, North Sydney Oval, Drummoyne, Bankstown Oval, Sydney Uni's home ground, Waitara Oval, Mosman's home ground, Eastern Suburbs' home ground (can't remember the names ), etc.

When you come to Sydney go on a tour of the riot areas. Cronulla, Redfern and Macquarie Fields (Where I went to school and suburb next to mine). By the way James, go the westies!

I'll be leaving on Wednesday for 11 months. 3 months in Canada and 8 months in the UK and Europe.
