QATAR GRANTED INTERNATIONAL CRICKET COUNCIL'S MEMBERSHIP​

The national cricket team of Qatar has been granted a full International Cricket Council (ICC) membership. Becoming International Cricket Council's 25th full member. The Qatar team will participate in the future tours programme coming ahead, at the end of the ongoing Prime Twenty20 Cup. Qatar has assigned captaincy duties to Furqaan Shayk, who has been playing domestic cricket in Qatar for 3 years. He has never captained a side before. It was a shocker that they decided to go with him instead of the captain of Doha Dynamos, Khalifa Muftah.

QATAR AIRWAYS SIGN A 3-YEAR CONTRACT AS THE MAIN SPONSOR OF QATAR CRICKET TEAM​

Qatar Airways have signed a 3-year contract with Qatar Cricket Association as their main sponsor. Qatar Airways are known for sponsorship deals with major sporting teams, such as FC Barcelona have signed a deal and are willing to contribute as much as they can. A 4-team Twenty20 competition in Qatar is to be held in a couple of months, and Qatar Airways will be their title sponsor as well.

INTERNATIONAL CRICKET STADIUMS IN DOHA AND AL-RAYYAN​

The West End Park in Doha is one of the highly-profiled sporting venues in Qatar, the West End Park will be available to Qatar's national team as their home venue. The Qatar Cricket Association headquarters is also situated in Doha. Their second and last venue is the Ahmed Bin Wali Stadium in Al-Rayyan. The multi-purpose sporting venue in Al-Rayyan is the homeground of the Al-Kharaitiyat Sporting Club, best known for it's football team in the Qatar Stars League.
