Gosh, the last time I looked this thread was called "ICC World T20 India 2016 - March/April 2016"
@icyman feel free to follow the link provided, you might even have some fun...

I'm participating, but it probably needs to be moved to a separate fantasy thread. Let's stick to real cricket on here.

That group A looks unbelievably strong now that Bangladesh have qualified. In terms of how good each team is, I'd rank them like this:

1. India
2=. Australia
2=. New Zealand
4. Bangladesh
5. Pakistan

You never know with Pakistak though.

Nice win by Pakistan. Winning gives you confidence no matter it is a warm up game. Pakistan needs to have their balance right, give confidence to guyz and most importantly Afridi needs to perform with bat and ball or atleast in one department.

He hasn't in neither so far. On a side note, Imad Wasim really made a mockery of the management for leaving him out in the Asia Cup. 4-25 and a run-out as well.

In this group, a lot will depend on how Australia and New Zealand play against the spinners. New Zealand didn't play well against Rashid in their last warm-up match. Australia didn't do too well against Indian spinners even when they were playing in Australia. So that will be one of the major factors.

Other thing is I think Bangladesh are also very unpredictable this time. They have improved a lot over the last 2 years. Yes, they have won most of the matches in Bangladesh but I do feel that they will give a good challenge to all the teams in this group. I always go with New Zealand as my dark horse in a major tournament like this but this time I feel Bangladesh are the dark horse. They are coming off a really good Asia cup and didn't have too much trouble in qualifying stages as well. So that are the ones to look out for.

I feel like there is too much hype around India winning the trophy, and we are going to fail miserably - will be off to a losing start against the Kiwis. Which will make us nervous against Pak and we might actually face our first defeat against Pak in a world cup ...

Got a bad bad feeling about our prospects

Are you trying to reverse jinx it or what?

I genuinely believe we will bomb harder than an Adam Sandler movie and sink faster than the Titanic

You're definetely the most pessimistic Indian on the planet.

I know Indian fans have a history here of the "reverse jinx", but trust me there's a very growing fear among us (Indian fans) that India is being put way too high on the pedestal and I dont think that suits our personalities and the way we function/think. Right now, the talk/hype is like "might as well give the trophy to MS Dhoni and the other teams just go home". This is plain crazy. India is not that great. Not too long ago, we were even talking about how India might have a hard time in this tournament even though its in Indian conditions. Suddenly the team acquired this lofty status and we know it will most likely thud down to earth at the most crucial of moments, leaving the Indian fans devastated. And that moment is most likely going to be this tournament.

I am not reverse jinxing. I am truly very scared. Not because I think India don't have the talent/skill. But because I worry that India might not be able to handle all that expectations.

I agree to an extent with sai, i mean articles like these The World T20 is India's to lose, but that could happen | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo never helps, its almost like people are settingthings up in a way like if we win it will be no big deal and if we loose it will be a stinker!

Nobody says stuff like these for other teams, like its aus to loose even in their home conditions etc

Still i believe under MSD we have rarely bombed early in the tournament if at all, but i dont think we are outright finalists.

I think the players are very well equipped nowadays to handle all the hype. They are a lot more mature than what we used to have earlier. I am sure we will do well in this comp. Winning the trophy depends as one bad day and you are out. But like how we did well in WC 2015, I am sure this will be good too.

India's pitches helps both sides bowling and batting, bowlers can swim the ball and batsman can hit for a long.. I think Indian Batsman will play better than other Bcs they are playing there own pitches so far there chance of winning this title is big. lets see who will win we can't say that who will win Bcs this is Cricket. "Game can Change in one BALL" So Good Luck Every one...
