I theory, England have played their two toughest matches, so I'll take 1/2.

Absolutely magic from Root. I reckon he's England's best player for quite some time. Could be argued that he's the best ever. He's the man for the big games.

Also, well done the selectors for sticking with Roy. Could've easily dumped him after doing nothing in t20 cricket for a year.

As for the bowling, our seamers are very average. It might be worth dropping one of them for Dawson as the spinners seem to be giving Morgan a little bit of control. Is there anyone else who can't understand how Jordan keeps getting picked?

Didnt see eng bat thought it was gameover with SA 229, well done eng, yet to catch highlights but just looking at scorecard, one team bowled 2 wides another 20, also why wasnt steyn bowled out he may have gone for runs but he has often comeback from such spells!

also i think morne morkel is invaluable bowler in t20 than rabada, as he knows to contain better is he injured ? also has more experience playing in Ipl here

EDIT: Just caught the highlights, thats some Horrid bowling form SA, they didnt seem to bowl to the field at all, either gifting it on the pads or short and wide!

too many wides from SA... England well played, i thought they might be out of the tournament quickly... with this type of unorganized bowling, SA might choke them self again in world cup...

Watched the highlights of the Eng vs SA game. What a run feast that was! Reminded me of that IPL game where Mumbai Indians (driven by Corey Anderson) chased down a huge score in very little overs to make the playoffs (I don't remember which team they played against). Wankhede is a batting feast with true pace and bounce. For a team like SA, they should have bowled better but in all seriousness, any team would have gone for so many runs on a surface like this.

Lets all (Indian fans) stay calm tomorrow. If India play like how they have done mostly in recent times (they won 10 out of 11 games), they should win this game tomorrow. And after that shake up of a loss, hoping India are on their toes. I hope Dhoni is flexible enough to change the XI and not insist on going with the same XI irrespective of conditions.

That was the first time I saw Roy batting (yes, I missed the WI match) and I thought it could not have been better. England's top 5 deserve the praise for their approach. Truly fantastic however, I felt South Africa bowled way too straight. May be because they saw what happened to England bowlers when they bowled wide from the stumps but yesteday's was a wicket tailormade for batting. One thing I do not understand that how Chris Morris makes it to this team when Morne is sitting out. If they want someone who can bat and has a touch of pace (unlike Weise who slow military medium in general) they can always pick McLaren who did brilliant last time I saw him in their ODI team. So, if you ask me it is always a toss between Morne and McLaren. Morris may be a good bowler but there are better options available for South Africa to pick from. Heck, even Albie Morkel even when he is not at his best at this stage of his career would be a better pick than Morris. Morris brings literally nothing to the team.

This tournament is becoming harder and harder to predict, all I can say. Even after a team put 229 runs on the board, you can't bet your money without risk.

I saw batting of J. Root and boy how calmly he was playing with the ball here and there. He made it look so easy to hit fours and sixes. Clean striking with proper cricketing shots. Wonderful batting

On the other note, I was very surprized with the commentary in the end, Nasir Hussain looked too nervous while the other one was as silent as one can be. They made it sound a nervy boring contest. I missed the great Tony Grieg and Bill Lawry there..

According to Cricbuzz, Eden garden is under covers. Rain is stoping the groundsman to start the mopping operation. Same with Ind vs Pak (women) match. Play has been interupted with Pak needing 20 runs of the 24 balls with 4 wickets in hand.

There might be some delay in commencement of the game. *Fingers Crossed" hope to see the full 40 over game.
