Reckon the following will happen after today's loss:

OUT: Irfan, Afridi & Shehzad.
IN: Yasir Shah.

Who do you reckon Pakistan would bring as an additional bowler, and opening batsman?

Had an urge to type Salman Butt. Haha!
Whatever happened to Imran Nazir and Nasir Jamshed. Nazir, if not retired is quite a readymade replacement for Afridi the batsman. Yasir Shah being the replacement of Afridi, the bowler. AFA Irfan is concerned. He brings nothing to the Pakistani team. He is just tall, that is it. Pakistan surely has better bowlers. Irfan does not bowl yorkers anymore like he used to. Why is he and Riaz, the one spell wonder in the team when Junaid Khan is sitting out?

Well we managed to choke it again. I know I'm going to get slack for this but we are starting to see the effects of quota...

2 well deserved team are topping both groups and have qualified. India vs Australia a virtual quarter final before semis and its good. India and Australia both havent played cricket as is expected from them. Both of them need to prove and the better team that day goes through. Good luck to both the teams and hope India just sneak out and win the match

Bring in the violins. You still might qualify.

SA's biggest issue is the balance of their side. Teams like Australia, England and West Indies are able to play 7 or 8 proper batsmen and still have 6+ bowling options. When SA pick their best batting line up, their bowling looks very weak and vice versa.

It's due to selections. Morris and Wiese are carry ons (although they haven't done badly) while Duminy doesn't bowl and isn't good enough to make it as a batsmen alone. The biggest problem is we can't have our batsmen and bowlers perform on the same day. We either score 200+ or 120 and our bowling has just been meh. Rabada bowling length in the last over was terrible. Today was poor captaincy, needing just over 6 an over they decided to have everyone on the boundary. If Charles thought him and Samuels could have gotten 6-7 from the start.

Also we need a psychologist...[DOUBLEPOST=1458939674][/DOUBLEPOST]
That was barely a choke ..

If anything, SAF almost choked WI

Our batting was. Amla, du Plessis, AB and Miller all played unnecessary shots (I went for a net session once Miller went out). We somehow lost our heads in a much win game...

Just so tired of supporting SA.

I'm not surprised by the result. Once again, their selection in a big match in a world tournament is shocking and once again, Kyle Abbott is at the receiving end of being benched. Now, I have an enormous amount of respect for Kagiso Rabada, but that pitch is not worth his toil. I've said this at the end of the 2015 WC as well that Steyn is a test match bowler now. If you asked me as an India fan the one bowler I don't want in the SA XI, it would be Morne Morkel.

I don't think de Villiers is a good captain. I'm convinced Faf isn't either. SA need a free spirited guy to lead them with some imagination and the dare to gamble. Today, Imran Tahir nearly pulled it off for them, but anyone who has seen cricket for some years would tell you that the way Faf used him was a joke. Instead of putting Tahir and Phangiso in tandem for at least 6 overs to attack WI, he was hoping he could 'defend' 120. Poor!

This may sound ludicrous, but if you ask me, QdK would be my best bet for captaincy. He's young, keeps wickets so understands field positions, he's well established as an opener and the way he bats tells me he can make some ballsy decisions which du Pleases and de Villiers have failed to do, repeatedly.

I will once again sleep heartbroken and wait for another ICC event and hope my darling team can pull off a major.

main concern for SA in this world cup is there bowling... even looking as a strong T20 made team, SA can't able to win a match... that is sad...

Gonna take in some action tomorrow, hopefully the Aussies kicks India out.

I am worried of a possible issue with the crowds when India lose though, assuming they having xtra security forces!

I thought South Africa did really really well to keep it to the wire. Against most teams they would have won it but good for us, we bat really really deep so even after those many wickets we had players who can hit it. Age is telling on Steyn and on the contrary to the comments above, I would like to see him play shorter versions of the game. A five day match can be tiring as hell for someone who is ageing. Plus, he is a bowler. It will be very tough for him bowl many overs like he is used to. In a T20 he just need to bowl 4 overs and that is it and it is a money spinner so yes, why not?

I am all up for the talent. I have always raised a concern about the quota system and due to which players like Abbott has to suffer but last night I thought both Phangiso and Rabada, barring the last over bowled very well. Rabada is supposed to be the find for SA. He should not be ruled out just because of one bad over. The lad is extremely talented. He needs to be given the confidence that no matter what happens he will be in the team. That will do wonders to his confidence and performance. You know what, when Alzarri Joseph bowled the way he did in U-19 WC, we in the Caribbean looked up to him not as the next Ian Bishop but the next Kagiso Rabada!

Now, to the Mark's point, I agree that Morris has to sit out. He does not bring anything to the team but Wiese should stay for a while since SA is hell bent on not picking either McLaren or Albie. I also fail to understand what do SA team sees in players like Farhaan Behardien and Wayne Parnell. Neither of the two would make it as an 'allrounder' in any of the top 8 test playing nations if you ask me. Such stupid selections has already led players like Roelof van der Merwe migrate to other countries. However, I do not agree on the exclusion of JP Duminy. I do not there is a better player to replace him. Whom are you thinking of? Colin Ingram?

As far as captaincy is concerned, I believe Faf is okay but AB seems to be feeling the pressure of captaincy. You can have someone like Miller leading the side. IMO, if I had to pick a T20 side that will be close to this:

Amla/Levi
de Kock
AB
Faf
Duminy/Rilee Rossouw
Miller
Albie
McLaren/Phangiso (depending on the pitch)
Tahir
Abbott
Rabada

Hand NZ the trophy already! They are playing seriously some magnificent cricket this tour.

Imran Nazir was the daddy of T20. Unfortunately, he has developed severe arthiritis, so doubt he will ever be playing cricket again. ):

Regarding Junaid, his form has slumped for a prolonged period. Even when he was demoted to playing for Pakistan A, apart from a 4'fer, he failed to take a wicket in the other matches and leaked a lot of runs. Even in the PSL, when playing for Peshawar Zalmi, 6 wickets in 7 matches.

So who you are the best bet at the moment?
