I've only seen two matches in the series, and I'm hoping that the pitches in seeing now won't be similar to the ones in March. Clearly going by this chat, they will be. Shame.
Yeah, whenever a pitch favours spin, it is a bad pitch.

It is quite ridiculous that every time ball starts to turn, someone pops out of nowhere and starts complanining. Doesn't happen too often when we see ball swinging but as soon as it starts spinning, it's a minefield.[DOUBLEPOST=1455466644][/DOUBLEPOST]
Haven't said anything about a green top. Cape Town today was perfect. Nowhere near a green top.

Either you are not getting the point I was trying to make in that post or just ignoring it.

People who tells Jadeja is bad bowler clearly haven't watched him play. He is one of the best bowler in our country.

My friend, you and I both know that swing has nothing to do with a surface. It's not just Indian pitches that annoy me. UAE, Australia and NZ pitches are all too batsmen friendly. Australia in the last three years have lived off the fact that their batsmen can be flat track bullies.

I think that only England and SA are the two remaining countries that create pitches that are good for cricket.[DOUBLEPOST=1455466845][/DOUBLEPOST]

Who said he was a bad bowler?

Jadeja has bowled in England a few times and on average, he was imparting similar amount of revs as Joe Root and way behind Moeen Ali. Unless he's improved that in the last year or so, I'd guess I'm still correct.

Jadeja is a pitch player as in how he plays will vary drastically in pitches were there is help for spin and were there is not, he has explained that quite a bit in his interviews where he bowls more straight and looks to choke when there is no help from pitch and where he can get it to spin, also he has certainly improved after the last tour quite a bit, to an extent where its an emotional journey ! Again revs is not everything which is why jadeja is rated better than moeen or even say mishra who is a much better spinner in terms of imparting pure revs!

there you go this is easily an 120+ wkt if not for the target we had!

I don't see many pitches in England and South Africa which helps the spinners. Does that count as a good cricket pitch if it only helps fast bowlers?

Not in the slightest. Old Trafford, the oval and Edgbaston all take spin.[DOUBLEPOST=1455467057][/DOUBLEPOST]

Then you don't watch much cricket in England. Wasn't Moeen Ali the top wicket taker when you were last over here?

I am telling i general. Just go over SA tour of India thread. I saw many posts which said that 'Jadeja is getting wickets in the pitch which tells how spin friendly the pitch is'. What I am telling is, even when pitch doesn't offer spin, he is a great bowler.

Also, are you watching the match ? India chasing comfortably. It's surely 150 pitch. Inexperienced Lankans couldn't handle our top spinners. There is absolutely nothing wrong in this pitch. If you still argue that this is a spinners pitch and pitches like these shouldn't be there in WC, I strongly disagree with you and can't argue with you anymore as it will be pointless.

Then what's the problem with sub-continental pitches favouring spin?

I think the difference is the degree it favours spin. On the grounds I mentioned, the pitch would favour spin about the same as it would favour seam. That's a good contest and a good spectacle where you can appreciate fast bowlers, medium pacers, spinners and batters.

If you expect every pitch all over the world to be like that, what's the use in playing in other countries? The main reason for playing in other countries is that you experience different kinds of pitches all over the world.

I watched enough to know that Moeen Ali was gifted wickets by Indian batsmen throughout the summer of 2014 test series.

Well I was at the Rose Bowl when Ali bowled you out on the final day. That was proper spin bowling on a pitch that wasn't turning miles but that had just enough for a good spinner to do his job.

im not much for jack of all trade pitches they are some of the most boring biased ones if anything the fourth innings will be at a disadvantage to the chasing team

well I was at the Rose Bowl when Ali bowled you out on the final day.

Indian batsman gifted with brainless shots to ali than ali bowling them out, that was no spin contest! Also 4 th innings spin coming into lay is almost the most biased kind of pitch!

Anyway fantastic match and win, there is no doubt sl threw it away with the batting collapse and couldnt turn the ball on the so called spinner!

Well whatever you said, same description applies to today's match. The pitch wasn't turning miles, it just had enough in it for a quality spinner to extract. Unfortunately Sri Lankan batsmen were not experienced enough to bat sensibly on it which resulted in them collapsing to 82.
