I really hope that the pitches won't be like the ones that India and SL are playing on now. Shockers!!! Jadeja is bowling round arm darts and the ball turning square.
I'll visit the Wankhede for sure for the Semis and will report you the pitch.

I really, really hope they are like this. :p

I don't mind a little bit innit for the bowlers so it's an even contest, but that's ridiculous. Will spoil the tournament.

Again this spinophobia thats gripping the world is fascinating, today again apart from 2-3 wkts everything was thrown away by batsman lack of application and error in judgement for target to set!

Also there is much more to jadeja than meets the eye, he is no ashwin but there is still a lot more subtle variation and accuracy in his bowling that makes him the best dart bowler in the world!

I for one would pay to watch t20s were 120-140 is the par score much more fascinating than 180-190 contests! This wicket is certainly a 120 run wkt atleast!

Also this being t20 almost al lteams have one are two decent spinners for the format so it wouldnt be too much of an advantage esp given that ind batsman are no longer masters of spin but slightly better than other teams!

I don't care about advantage to a certain team. I care about the advantage to the bowlers. Nobody will be getting 120-140 on the two pitches I've seen this week. They're awful.

even ashwin went at more than a run a ball in that first match all it required was an understanding of the pitch and not look for slogs, sl could have easily got a 120+ there if not for the target, vice versa would apply to india here!

Any body calling these pitches as poor is just biased to slogathons these are more than fine! Come on batsman have everything going in their favor just asking them to use a bit more of their grey matter in a match isnt asking much!

You can score even 190 as India showed in the last game but you need to bat a bit more sensibly. Sri Lanka just threw away wickets today. Yes, the ball was turning but it is going to turn when you are in the subcontinent. We saw some inexperience from Sri Lankan batsmen and it was very likely since they have a very young team on this tour.

Pitches won't be too different than the one you are seeing right now.

I don't know if you are watching a different game to me, but in the one I'm watching, Jadeja- who puts less revs on the ball than most international spinners- is turning the ball from outside leg stump and it's going way past off. That's not helpful to the bowlers, it's ridiculous. I'm in favour of evening up the contest between bat and ball. I thought today's Cape Town pitch was an excellent pitch. True bounce, a bit of Dean and took turn. That's what you want for a global tournament.

For one i know there is no RPM indicator, so kudos to you for counting the revs on the ball, next its not just how much revs you impart but how much shoulder, hip and zip you can get into it, plus the pace , also ball turning square

thats called spin mate and there is nothing wrong in having it in a match, i pity those who have forgotten that batsman were able to play these some time ago! Also i dont see SL intl bowlers doing what jadeja or ashwin did!

Global tournaments should reflect the hosting nation's flavor of pitches! If it should have a bit of everything might as well start using mats for world cups!

Thing is, no one complained about the pitch in the first match where pacers had a good time. But when spinners had a good time today, suddenly complaints about pitch.
I've only seen two matches in the series, and I'm hoping that the pitches in seeing now won't be similar to the ones in March. Clearly going by this chat, they will be. Shame.

If you think Jadeja can't turn the ball, you have not seen enough of him. Jadeja WILL turn the ball if there is some help in the wicket. He has shown this many times before and he even turned the ball in England in champions trophy 2013 where the pitches were dry. On the other hand, none of the Sri Lankan spinners are getting any spin. This is the kind of pitch where Jadeja becomes dangerous because he will confuse the batsmen where one will turn and other one will just come straight with the arm.

As I said in my previous post, there is nothing ridiculous about the pitch. Yes, you can say it was ridiculous batting by Sri Lanka. You need skills to play on turning tracks the same way you need skills to play on a green surface. This pitch is in no way a turner, if you bat sensibly you can score the runs which Sri Lanka didn't do.

Jadeja has bowled in England a few times and on average, he was imparting similar amount of revs as Joe Root and way behind Moeen Ali. Unless he's improved that in the last year or so, I'd guess I'm still correct.

If you are watching the match, Indians are playing well. It was Lankans who failed to apply themselves just like Indians did in the first pitch. This pitch is surely 140-150 which is not bad. It is well biased for both batsmen and bowlers. I don't see what's your problem?

Haven't said anything about a green top. Cape Town today was perfect. Nowhere near a green top.
