If that's addressed to me, let me tell you, honestly, I have 'never' been a fan of ICC or BCCI. They're money makers. They are part of enough reasons that slowed the growth of cricket in places like Ireland, Scotland, US, Afghanistan and many more. Those sides should have been able to compete in test cricket by now if ICC actually had endeavored for it. I swear I won't praise these two stupid fund distributors even if they finish this event without obstacles, just because I can't forget the ugly role they always have been playing which has costed many good things into cricket. After the completion of this phase, everything cools down and everyone praise ICC for organising this event in India and BCCI for managing the things systematically.
Nah. It was a general statement. In the past, WT20 was played with associate after qualifiers round. I don't think ICC has done anything wrong in having qualifiers round prior to the actual WT20 round. Let me make things clear at this. Previously, we had only one qualifiers round where 6-8 associates teams played the qualifiers and the winning team along with the runner-up used to join the strong teams in the WT20 tournment. But due to increase in no. of associate teams and their affiliation with ICC, the ICC had to conduct 2 rounds of qualifiers which took place in Ireland & Scotland (1st phase) and 1st round of WT20 India (2nd phase). If that's addressed to me, let me tell you, honestly, I have 'never' been a fan of ICC or BCCI. Sorry, I went a bit off topic here. But I just had to clear few things.
Well, I don't think it won't be many people that will praise the BCCI, considering the terrible job they've done selling tickets. I wouldn't be surprised if the matches between non-asian teams are played in front of half-empty stadiums. As far as giving the tournament to India, it was done a long time ago. After the completion of this phase, everything cools down and everyone praise ICC for organising this event in India and BCCI for managing the things systematically.
