If the "rare talent" gets smashed for 51 runs in his four overs, I wonder how many will the "normal bowler" concede.:D
Well. Everyone will have an off day. And, I am sensing that you are aiming him. Because the other day versus WI, he bowled really well. If you had checked today's score, I am guessing you might have checked that score too. So, I guess you will post about him only when he doesn't bowl well.

Congrats Scotland. You finally managed to win a game in an ICC event. @IceAgeComing must be a happy man today.

its a game that we really should have won anyway, its really nice to have won a game in one of the biggest ICC events (technically Scotland has won loads of games in ICC events, just that they were in Associate events like the World Cricket League) but that doesn't balance the fact that we lost two winnable games and had a good chance to qualify. Hopefully it can help us into the next set of international games which are to be held in some unknown date between August and November, because apparently the ICC can't be bothered to tell people when they play to hold the games...

Just noticed - Group A is seriously going to be the 'Group of Death' with India, New Zealand, Australia and Pakistan in the same group and also Bangladesh expected to join (if Bangladesh beat Oman, they will join this group).

All the heavyweights in one group. In fact on current T20 form, India and New Zealand are the most likely to move ahead but I won't discount Pakistan who are a subcontinental team and are generally very good T20 players. This time, they will have more batting friendly pitches and their batsmen will enjoy. Their bowlers are good enough to challenge oppositions. From the current perspective, Australia seem the most likely to not make it to the next round as they seem to struggle in T20's and even though they have Watto, Smith, Maxwell, Warner, in Indian conditions they could very likely find it tough against the 3 subcontinental teams they will face in this group (India, Pakistan and the other qualifier).

Did Raina retire hurt to give chances to others, or is something wrong? That was a very good innings from him. To me, he is still a vital cog in India's limited overs batting in subcontinental pitches.

Yuvraj and Dhoni's innings are pleasing. Both had excellent S/R's.

" Suddenly, there was another surprise. Just as the South Africans and the umpires were moving to their positions for the new over, the pair of MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh rushed out to replace Dhawan and Raina, who retired."

Yesterday's match was good practice for India. We took on a strong South African side, unfortunately couldn't make it past the line. India competed well and I must say the team is looking in great nick ahead of the starting match.

ICC has removed Dharamsala as the venue for T20 WC which is a shame because it is a beautiful venue to play cricket

That's not true. It's only the India-Pakistan game that has been shifted out of Dharamsala. Indian ewspapaers have wrongly mentioned that Dharamasala has been removed as a venue. They'll play host to the Australia New Zealand game in the Super 10 round. Had it been removed, even the Qualifying matches would have moved.

That's true, although it wouldn't have been a bad idea to remove it altogether, given the weather might play spoilsport, but i guess that's not really a valid reason.

6-over game !

Arrggh ! You might as well go play 5-a-side just like they did during the Hong Kong Super Sixes :facepalm

And poor Ireland bow out without a win here! They must be so gutted at going back home in this manner.

Well anyway, Bangladesh taking on Oman next. What are the odds of an upset here ?

*Six a side, sorry to be a pedant. In fairness, though, good cricket was rewarded in this game for the likes of Dockrell, vd Merwe, van Meekeren, Stirling an Myburgh. The better team stlll won.

That Dutch team are brilliant and its a crime that they won't be around for any longer
They've had 52 overs of cricket all tournament, bossed about 50 of them, and lost narrowly to the second-best team in Asia. At the risk of sounding like a seven-year-old (I work with them, that's my excuse) IT'S NOT FAIR!

Which, as a committed Irish fan, is exactly how many wins they deserve.

Maybe one in ten? Maqsood, Jatinder, Khawar, Ansari and Lalcheta are all very good players.

Why doesn't Ryan ten Doeschate play for Netherlands anymore ?
He's moved on to better-paying things. I've always wondered about his logic, as if he were to play in global tournaments, it would be a great chance to display himself for all those franchise bosses, but ne'er mind.

Hasn't made himself available probably: hasn't played for the Netherlands since the 2011 World Cup

Ireland's focus on multi-day Cricket has hurt them quite a bit in ODIs and T20s: it was clear in the qualifiers last year and obvious here. I don't know whether its something that they'll address considering that its three years until the World Cup and four years until the World T20s, but if they don't do something then they'll struggle to qualify for England 2019 and maybe even for the 2020 World T20s

Oh no its raining: I want Oman to do well in this game even though, lets be honest, they haven't really got a chance.
