Ideal timing while batting.

I have been playing Don Bradman Cricket 14 for about 2 months now. I love the careers mode and have been playing it from the very beginning.
I have read/watched many tutorials and tips to improve batting and all say watch the ball indicator and play accordingly but I can't seem to be able to time the ball when I do that.
The way I bat is I have to premeditate all my shots with foot planted on front or back and move the RS just before the bowler releases the ball to get my timings right.
I have spent many hours trying to play on merit of the ball, I just cannot seem to be able to get my timing right i.e IDEAL but i alway get my timing right if I move the RS just around the time when the bowler is about to release the ball so that way i do not know what length, what line is the ball going to be I just go through with that shot.
I am wondering is it my controller which is reacting late or am I doing something wrong??

I have been playing in Pro Mode in my career and am doing decent enough with an avg of 29.47 with few 50s and two 100s.

I'd be pretty glad if anyone can help me figure this out as I want to stop playing premeditated shots all the time which is kinda working but I want to bat properly based on merits of the ball.

A batting average of nearly 30 for a (I'm presuming) rookie career player on Pro sounds pretty good. Can only get better. The premeditated aspect of batting has done for me. Playing every shot on the back foot and hoping that any Yorkers are missing stumps. I'm hoping that 'that patch that shouldn't be mentioned by console players' (lol) will address some of my batting foibles. Currently I only enjoy bowling.
