The IP addressing accessing your computer can be caused if you play any online games such as Call of Duty 4 or something of the sort. Thats just a false alarm, and I believe you need to allow it to play those games.

A question from me, how much speed difference do you get from an Ethernet connection to a usb connection

Its not much of a speed difference, rather, connectivity issues. USB connections tend to break a lot, and are generally considered less stable.

Yes because of which Ethernet thing is considered to be the apt option for high performance network connectivity issues. And if I am right, the rate at which the connection is established is also far higher in Ethernet comparing to USB i suppose. ( not sure though )

USB is generally 12/480 Mbps. 12 Mbps is more common, because thats the bandwidth the routers/modems connect with.
It doesnt Matter when the connections are as slow as they are in India, but for very high speed connections, these could pose a bottleneck.

Well mine runs at 80kilobytes upto 800kilobytes a second. Would it affect a speed like that? Right now my Ethernet is being used for lan, and so I'm using the usb connection to the modem. Is it worth a router?

Ethernet has the capacity of 100(1000 in newer cases) Mbps, but USB routers have atleast 12Mbps. This doesn't make any difference unless you have a connection speed higher than 12 mbps, because the initial 12mbps isn't being used anyways.

But yes, Ethernet is much more stable, because the USB drivers made for the Windows OS by most modem manufacturers, plus Internet on USB support is pretty iffy. Stay Ethernet and stay happy.

Ya u guys must have high speed connections so you don't notice any difference try taking a look into our poor Indian 256kbps connection.
