India 216 all out in 33 overs. Saurav Ganguly 41. Harmison 3 wickets
Sunny: The pathetic batting form of most of the Indian batsmen continued. Every one of them got starts. Some blazing ones. Some docile ones. But the fact is that none of them converted these starts.
Geofferey: It was really abysmal batting by the Indians. Only the Prince of Kolkata looked like he was playing at his favourite ground and scored a well planned 41. But he too didn't carry it any further.
Sunny: Starting with Sehwag - he was really moving his feet well. He kept flicking the wayward English quick bowlers time and again - like this:
Geofferey: But the same aggro brought him down to earth. He didn't account for Harmison's outswing and got an edge that was well held on to by Trescothick.
Sunny: Dhoni came and for a few overs it seemed that India's all rounder troubles are over. He stroked the ball with such fluency and power that could only be matched by the batsman he had replaced on the crease.
Geofferey: But he too missed Harmo's line and paid the price of playing down the wrong line.
Sunny: Just when it looked that Tendulkar was settling in his groove, he became involved in a pathetic mix up with his skipper and got run-out.
Geofferey: The run out season continued and Yuvraj was the latest to indulge in this latest fashion of gifting your wicket away.
India - 100/4
Sunny: Dravid didn't last long as he scooped up one good length ball in the hands of Gough at Mid Off. He was really angry with himself for it.
India - 106/5
Geofferey: The skipper tried very hard to make sure that no more wickets fell. And once he was assured of his own form, he even stroked a few elegant strokes:
With Kaif keeping him company, with a slow paced innings, it did look that they are going to get India out of the woods, when Ganguly played a rash shot, only to be caught by Collingwood in the final over of Gough.
