ok ..chill Mario
Cricket is a game ...

you seem so serious:eek:

It isn't a game to me. It's a religion.

If it's just a game, then you should get over that WC.

Jealousy? I think not. I'm an Aussie man remember ;)

You cant be serious. Cricket is just a game!?!?!

Rugby League for me= "Its more then just Life or Death"
Cricket for me= "Life or Death"

How can you not get serious over a game if you support it so strongly?

Basically, it's a religion.

YOu guys are all just JEALOUS WHY would you care if someone is celebrating their achievements? I mean a classic example in the ANZAC day where all Australians and New Zealanders acknowledge their war veterans. I mean they do the ceremony like its the first anniversary every year. Isnt that over doing it.

Cricket and the biggest War ever on this earth are completely different. Hundreds and thousands of people sacrificed our lives so Australia could have the cricket team we have today (Oh, and have all Aussies isntead of Japs ;)). It is not over doing it. They saved us all from being Japanese (Not literally of couse).

Im not trying to start anyone here, im just saying there are alot of other things that are celebrated a bit too much in which we dont take much care of.

I didn't read your whole post at the start but you can get lost. We wouldn't be here (Being aussies is what I mean)if it wasn't for a war veterans. I cant believe you would say something like that. That is unbelievably unrespectful to Australians and New Zealanders alike. That is not celebrated too much at all.

As I said im not comparing something with something. All im trying to say is how different cultures or countries etc. respect or celebrate their various issues.

You haven't made what you said any better.

Sport and War are completely different things and you cant use those two to say how different cultures respect their issues. We love our cricket just as much as you but we dont celebrate our world cups all the time.

If they're dancing on the streets then i think its over the top. Yes let the players celebrate because after all thats their achievement. But the fans. Please. Thats wasting time

Ok guys stop fooling around. Its just that TV guys are showing programs made for 1983 world cup. Thats half hour show during whole day of 24 hours. And they are also over now.

Apart from that BCCI hardly put up any function cos Kapil is rebel for them and they dont wanna overdo good gestures to him. 1 day of remembering old acomplishment should not annoy you.

And if it annoys you so much just answer why the hell you celebrate your b'day every year. Even after so many years?

Oh great, the incredibly excessive money coming into the game - that's really helping it these days. Thank goodness for India 1983.

The 1999 world cup wasn't bad, especially the semi final.

Its all great for the sake of just saying. Now don`t tell me that you`d love cricket to be a sport which has no money in it.

You sir are a moron. You're comparing a group of cricketers to people who fought and died defending their homeland. And plus, its not over the top, people pay their respects.

What a silly, silly thread. India is obviously mad about its cricket and it's only sensible that a celebration would be held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of a WC win, something that's considered to be the pinnacle of world cricket. Considering no Indian team has been able to repeat that achievement, every WC that goes by only adds to the value that win holds in the memories of fans.

With that aside, don't you think it's a tad bit hypocritical for you to be criticizing the BCCI and Indian cricket for this, as if it's some sort of travesty? Are you telling me that the PCB hasn't celebrated any anniversary for your WC win in 1992?

For your kind information, even Pakistan hasnt won a World Cup since its 1992 triumph.
India has won 2 U-19 WC's and the T20 WC too,till date.
[/B]

For your unkind information, Pakistan won 2004, 2006 U19 World Cup, and yes we didn't overdo it, media wise.

T20 wasn't the real World Cup as far as I heard. ;)

lol fight, fight, samjhauta express drowns in ravi.

lmao great thread.

I agree with Deans last post completety. It sums it all up. I dont care if it is your greatest moment or greatest world cup ever it's been 25 years. Stop celebrating it and start concentrating on trying to win another.

lol, when the hell did Australia win the last world cup, you aussies shouldn't be even talking, ;)...

ohh! wait.. ;P
