The Indians in India are celebrating it as if they won the WC yesterday!
Even on TV they're giving more trophies and awards and whatnot out....
Pakistan won their only WC in 1992, only 16 years ago (comparitively to 1983), and we don't go have Parades and give awards for something that happened 16 years ago.
Complete over the top reaction, cut a cake in your house or something (at the most), but parades and giving awards out for something that was 25 years ago?
Seriously, I don't see the Aussies celebrating their WC victories, or the Windies, or even Sri Lanka!
YOu guys are all just JEALOUS WHY would you care if someone is celebrating their achievements? I mean a classic example in the ANZAC day where all Australians and New Zealanders acknowledge their war veterans. I mean they do the ceremony like its the first anniversary every year. Isnt that over doing it.
Im not trying to start anyone here, im just saying there are alot of other things that are celebrated a bit too much in which we dont take much care of.
It would be to your advantage to know that Pakistan have won 2 U-19 WCs as well....
And the Twenty20 Championship wasn't a WC.
Officially declared by the ICC it wasn't a WC, but a Championship, like the Champions Trophy.
The T20 WC in 2009 will be a World Cup (for T20)
And theres a big difference betweem big parades and lavish gifts and big dinners and a small get together.
1996 WC Quarter-Final, many more.
My point is why are we celebrating something 25 years ago. I understand your whole "silver jubilee" concept, but why haven't the West Indies done it?
They've had 3 opportunities to do so, but show some sort of modesty :
I request this thread to be closed please, because the thread starter can do nothing but call Indians stupid, and all other sorts of things.
