That is, by far the worst Indian TV channel. Actually if you want to be entertained when you are really bored, you ought to surf the channel.

But the line is quite- Dhoni's 12 inches will win the World Cup :lol

Actually there is some substance in it. With 1.5 feet, Dhoni's fottwork was affected and was in a bad bad shape. With 12 inches, atleast he can feel more comfortable. You'll be able to see a variety of shots while he is batting. :D

now, for most people they are the favourites for the tournament but I'm wondering if perhaps they peaked a bit early.

2008 and 2009 sehwag was for me the best batsman in the world, but he's not hit those heights this year. he was a bit limp in south africa, and yes, yes, the seaming track thing, call me naive but I don't believe players that hit run a ball 200s and 300s all of a sudden become duds just because it's moving a bit more, there is form issues. he was well below par against new zealand as well.

tendulkar too is in fantastic test form, but he's played 4 ODIs in the last 14 months, I do wonder if it's adequate preperation for a world cup. Furthermore India's excellent test form has been largely down to Laxman, he's basically won them 3 matches, near single handedly in 2010. However he's someone that's not there.

Dhoni is not quite the menace in ODIs he was at one point either. a year or two ago he was easily the best wicket-keeper bat in the format, but his form has gone south since then. 2008 and 2009 his average was incredible, but he made one century since 2010 and notable that was in january.

add to this Yuvraj, their one time ODI specialist, is totally off the boil and the supporting cast of young players to complete the line up has been a revolving door of promise one minute and then failure. Sharma has become Raina has become Kohli. Kohli is undoubtedly in form right now, but he's inexperienced.

Gambhir is the only one with form heading in the right direction going into the world cup and I just wonder if going in to this India might find themselves not quite doing as well as they feel they should, given the high standards their batsmen were reaching 12 months ago.

Yes they do & they are called FTBs (Flat Track Bullies). But thats all i will say, since i dont want to sidetrack your thread.
