India to quit Champions Trophy

Well India arn't comming to New Zealand anymore because they are scared of losing. Thats pretty sad. They don't think our pitches are good preparation because they arn't like the West Indies ones. I mean I can see why, but I don't know whether its a very smart move. Mabee we should pull out of going there next time. :/ To avoid their spin friendly pitches.

This is going to be a mess.

If all the other cricket boards stand firm besides ICC then ICC can actually cancel BCCI's membership. Then with all the other boards backing the ICC, no team would play against India. Then, forget about sponsors even guys like Pathan will have to post their resumes on Monster.com

Some article in my paper was going on about the Asian counties and African ones going with the BCCI and us, England and Australia being left out.

What? The last time we toured New Zealand, the pitches were so poor that Harbhajan commented that "we were made to play on gardens". So green with too much lateral movement. Did you forget that test match where India were bowled out for 100 and New Zealand were bowled out for 94?

Our pitches are spin friendly but they are not as poor as yours were for batting (barring the Mumbai one against Australia!).

That was some time ago, since then they have much improved and India should of seen that. But I guess they havn't played here since then.

But I guess you are right. Last time they were a disaster. I can not deny that.

If remember right, wasnt there a tour to New Zealand scheduled for India before the 2007 World Cup? I remember reading it sometime ago!

I think that may have been the one cancelled... I don't think its fear as much as it is the newly-laid plan "GREED" for the BCCI.

This is absolutely atrocious, India haven't toured NZ since World Cup '03 and will end up playing in next one without touring. Does this FTP thing hold any weight or what!!! Dam, I'll miss watching Indians loose again.:p

Well the India tour New Zealand tour isn't cancelled. It is shifted ahead in the schedule. If you read the article in the cricinfo it's written that they will play after WC 2007. Cause before WC India is scared to play againts NZ so they don't wanna loose againts them which is the reason that they might loose out of form and may not play good in WC.

That is a stupid reason for professional cricketers to give. I'm sure Team India doesn't echo the views of the BCCI.

Man I think they should play againts NZ. BCCI is scared but not the Indian Team. We've got Rahul Dravid so no worries but if it was Ganguly then for sure we've would have been scared and been whitewashed agains them.

Yeah. I agree. I am sure the players arn't scared.

Whens it shifted to? I read in the paper it was cancelled.

Well since the the NZ tour postponement has been agreed upon by both sides, I think its acceptable. But I do not agree with Australia touring India every year for three years between 2007-09. First, its not been accepted yet by Cricket Australia. Second, it will definately kill the rivalry if they play so often. Third, the BCCI are clearly taking matters too big for them into their hands!

Like Malcolm Speed said, Cricket isnt just about money, its about responsibility. And if just the best teams continue to play each other all the time, how would you expect the game to grow out of South Asia?

Do you realize you just admitted that the Asian teams are the best?
