Sadly, one of the bullet points in my contract says that I should indulge in it occasionally. Now that you've joined in, I suppose I can delegate it to the pros

I don’t see why this can’t be the best chance for the Indian team to win in England. The Indian team will spend atleast 1 and half month in England before playing the first Test. So I think we have a good number of days to acclimatize with the English conditions.

We have the bowling to take 20 wickets now so the batsmen’s performance could actually decide the series. I just hope Kohli doesn’t commit those extreme blunders like he did the last time.

This is the third time Kohli, Pujara, Rahane, Ashwin, Jadeja and Shami would tour England while Rohit, Bumrah and Pant for the 2nd time. Also this is the 4th time for Ishant Sharma. So we have fair bit of experience playing in England as well.

Well the last time India toured England in 2018, I saw flat dry tracks with no extra bounce to trouble the Indian batsmen. So I don’t think it would be anything different this time. On sporting wickets, England is as bad and we have already seen that in 2019 Ashes.

India over the years have proven there is a large difference between a flat pitch and a road.

In the 70s/80s on flat pitches on British soil the WI and Aus fast bowlers still troubled the batsmen with short pitch bowling, mostly the WI fast men.

I maintain the only genuine fast man India got is Mohammed Shami, fierce and intelligent guy but they never treated him properly at all, is he still worth it in tests?

It’s always been the case in England. I think with Ashwin, Jadeja and Ishant, our tail becomes a little strong. These 3 have come a long way in last 2 years.

9-10-11 is the real deal

someone like Pant, Kohli, Pujara, Jadeja can turn the tide in our favour from the other end, provided these 3 tails support well.

I feel Mohammed Siraj is a handy player with the bat. I think it does make a lot of sense for him to play ahead of Shami since he looks to be a wicket taking option with the ball.

Well rounded side! Gill should play. Give him the series! He impressed a lot in that "famous Perth Gabba test" where we pulled the game out of nowhere. He had an "in and out" home series, but he was mighty impressive in Australia and deserves another big overseas series. Not much of a difference I would say between Rohit and Mayank. Guess Rohit will play more, if conditions favor batting because of his overall reputation. Tough on Vihari but I feel Jadeja is a better bet with his left arm spin and his batting which can mix caution and aggression. And Jadeja's inclusion makes the bowling attack pretty rounded with 2 spinners and 3 seamers. Essentially takes the pitch out of question (give any pitch and this combo will work).
