So Mohammad Yousuf has a second reason to be nervous about, apart from Ramiz Raja becoming PCB chairman.

Let us not only blame the bowlers for conceding 400+ but equally the batsmen who scored just 78 on a docile track like this. After playing so beautifully at Lord's we should've taken that approach forward but instead our batsmen went for those glory shots and unnecessary drives. I didn't expect that we would throw away our weapons against a class bowler like Anderson. There is a reason why he has got 620-odd wickets. Even a 300-320 total would've helped us a lot.

Also when you know that teams have won here chasing huge totals in the 4th innings what was the reasoning behind the team management to bat first? Not wanting to bat in the 4th innings can be one of those reasons but that couldn't be excused. We lost this one at the toss itself. It's a team failure to say the least.

Great play by England to bat India out of this match. There's no way they will batting again in this Test.

Honestly, I don't see us putting up a good fight in the 2nd Innings. The core of our batting is failing big time and that puts a lot of pressure on the openers and the lower order. I shudder to think what would have happened if Broad/Archer/Woakes were match fit.

Another disturbing thing is that India has had two below 100 scores in the last 6 months - something which I don't think has happened in such succession before.

Actually that is not completely right. We scored 78 all out 2 days ago while our 36 all out was 9 months ago. Before that it was way back in 2014 in England itself.

to-may-to, to-mah-to

I watching a conversation between Vaughan and Harsha and I liked what Vaughan had said regarding this Test. The match is gone. The best way India can salvage something out of this is by getting some of the batsmen back into form - a 50-70ish score to say the least (two of Pujara/Kohli/Rahane have to do it). Start thinking of the 4th Test and get as much playing time as possible. That's the only positive I can hope of.

Looking forward to Jimmy A knocking a few over: the man is incredible and a privelege to be able to watch him live doing his stuff......we need to appreciate him because one day it will all just be memories.

The first time I had a close look at Jimmy was in my late school days when he and Broad were knocking the Aussies down and out in the 2013 Ashes series in England which was followed by India's 2014 tour to England where he got Kohli on out quite regularly(a big Kohli fan I was back then). Before that it was just Indian Cricket, Sachin, Zak, Dhoni, etc. I really liked Steyn in those days, more so to do with his peak. But after all these years, I feel like respecting Jimmy for everything he gave to pace bowling and Cricket. I would definitely want to see him for atleast 2-3 more years.

I don't expect Kohli to produce anything great over here. He has looked out of sorts all throughout this tour. I could still see something coming from Jinx and Pujara as they did look in good touch at Lord's in that 2nd innings. Ishant has been terrible in this match. He did not look in the best of touch at Lord's but managed to pick 5 wickets in that game.

The extremes from this Indian team are too frequent. Apologies if this was brought up earlier on; however, firmly feel that the likes of Vikram Rathour ought to be sacked with immediate effect.

36 ao, 78 ao. Some of you have mentioned the 36ao took place almost 9 months ago, however, the fact is that it happened with the same team in alien conditions. Rathour might have worked on improvizing the lower order batting, but what has he done for your top order? Rohit gets out to ridiculous shots, KLR is te new Yuvraj(score a tone and do nothing for 15 games), VK chases deliveries that are outside is 6th stump.

This current team under Kohli has the same arrogance that Pakistan of the 1990s had. They were world beaters, walloped every opposition in bilateral tournaments,- however screwed up during World Cups. The Pakistanis had great players all around and were prone to giving extreme performances. As an Indian fan, just don't feel like cheering this arrogant bunch further- Hurts me to say so!
